Bike lifter arrested by KR Puram police 10 bikes and car worth Rs.11 lakhs recovered

The KR Puram police on tuesday arrested a bike theft and recovered 1o bikes and a car worth Rs.11 lakh from him.

Senior officer told reporters the accused Muniraju,resident of Hosakote used to break handlocks of the bikes parked in front of the houses and steal them.

The accused would then take the stolen bikes to isolated places and hide them for few days before selling them to his contacts.

Based on a complaint,the police track down the accused and arrested him.

The accused had stolen the bikes from KR Puram,Banaswadi,Hennur,Yelahanka,Hosakote, Kolar and Mulabagilu police station limits.

Journo attacks by recovery goons cops backs them

Close to the heel of SC landmark judgement against recovery agents,Kerala based journalist and general secretary of the Kerala unit of Newspapers Association of India complained to chief minister of Tamil Nadu and to the Director general of police,Tamil Nadu against the physical assault,criminal intimidation of a group of recovery agents who posing as policemen carried out the attack on the pretext of checking papers.

Martin Mencherry from Kochi,Kerala in his complaint on Wednesday said that adding to worst a special police officer accompanied them to legalise their illegal activities carried out in broad day light on the roads.

Martin in his complaint said that he was on his way from Bangalore to Kochi,when the accused stopped his vehicle at the signal at Dharmapuri Vella Kall.

They asked that we are the police and check the vehicle.The incident happened.The gang led by Special sub-inspector Vasan of Thopur station was among these four persons.

Only Vasavan was wearing the uniform.The other four were not in uniform.The special inspector did not ask me anything but was mute spectator of his associates atrocities.

One among the gang wearing white shirt said that he is the police and wanted to check the vehicle.

I immediately moved the car to the side.These four people let me down from the car.When I parked the vehicle and got out of the car,the special inspector left.

When I asked these four people about it,they did not tell me what it was.Immediately they grabbed my hand and snatched the car key from my pocket and took control of my car .

Martin Immediately contacted 100 of the police and reported the matter.He also called the DySp and uprest the matter.

After 25 minutes this special inspector Vasavan cameback as if he didn’t know anything.I said the thing.Immediately the inspector took the car key from the hands of these gang and inquired.

That is when they say that we are the recovery agency people that holds the finance.

Martin,requested the authorities concerned to take immediate action against those who impersonated the police and snatched the vehicle and assaulted while Special Inspector Vasavan looked on.

This is sheer violation of human rights and also SC directions against recovery

On going betting racket busted four held

Alert police on Saturday caught four persons running betting racket for Maharaja cricket cup scheduled between four district teams .

Assistant Sub Inspector Nagendra,who was on security duty noticed the accused standing on the footpath outside the stadium,a 100 meters away from the police station,busy collecting details about the ongoing match.

The cricket matches was scheduled between Shimoga strikers,Mangalore united,Mysore warriors an Bengalore blasters .

Suspecting something fishy,Nagendra along with his colleagues rounded up the accused and found that they are gathering details overs,sixes, fours,wickets of the matches on their mobiles and cross checking with the ration on the betting app .

The accused told the police that they are waiting to receive betting amount from punters and also giving winning amount to those who won on ball to ball betting .

The accused have been arrested under various section of the Karnataka Police Act and taken them into custody for further investigations to ascertain their network.

Study Visit Of Standing Committee Of Parliament On Railways To Mysuru Bengaluru

Standing Committee of Parliament on Railways visited Mysuru & Bengaluru Divisions today (22.08.2022).

Shri Radha Mohan Singh,Chairman of the Committee and other Hon’ble members held discussions with senior officers of South Western Railway.

Welcoming the dignitaries,Sanjeev Kishore, General manager,South Western Railway highlighted the performance and infrastructure developments of South Western Railway that took place in the Zone in the recent past.

The progress of various railway projects of South Western Railway like new line,doubling and electrification of railway tracks,provision of passenger amenities,provision of stoppage of trains,construction of Road Over Bridges / Road Under Bridges,stations redevelopment work etc.discussed in a meeting held at Mysuru. General Manager assured the Members of Parliament that their advice and suggestions will be given highest priority and best efforts will be made to implement them.

Later, the members inspected KSR Bengaluru and Sir M Visvesvaraya Railway Terminals.

Prepare vision document for development of UVCE:CM Bommai

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai instructed to prepare a vision document for the development of Bangalore University’s Visvesvaraiah College of Engineering.

Speaking at a meeting on the upgradation of seven Government Government Engineering Colleges in the State as Karnataka Institute of Technology with UVCE Chairman B.Mutturaman here on Monday.

He stressed on formulating short term and long term goals containing good concepts which can be implemented within the given time.

It is important to go for coordination with the institutes of excellence where ever possible to achieve success.The UVCE’s success story must inspire others.

The CM said the committees must be constituted for every institute which has been selected for Karnataka Institute of Technology and these institutes must be built on the foundation of values and morality.These institutes must make far-reaching changes, he added.

Since Bengaluru has the more number of Startups and Unicorns in the whole of country,a suitable place must be identified in the City to put up Unicorn Logo in order to highlight and encourage it, the CM said.

CM directs officials to form High-level panel for mines modernisation

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai issued instruction to constitute a high-level committee under the chairmanship of the chief secretary for the modernisation of mines.

Presiding over the review meeting of Department of Mines and Geology here on Monday,he said the concept of mining,machinery and mineral exploration are modernised in other countries.

The high-level committee must ponder over this and prepare guidelines for the same.

Sand policy

The CM directed officials to amend the sand
policy suitably to help poor and middle-class people.

There is a need to free the sand mining which are in the hands of a few persons.

Mines and Geology Minister,Halappa Achar,Chief Secretary,Vandita Sharma,CM Principle Secretary N.Manjunath Prasad,MSME&Mines and Geology Department Secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey and other senior officials were present in the meeting.

Speeding canter collided with goods vehicle, Woman a home maker killed in road accident,four including her minor daughter injured in Electronic City

A 42-year-old home maker was killed and four others including her minor daughter injured When a speeding canter collided with a goods vehicle they were travelling near Veerasandra junction on Hosur Road in Electronics City on Monday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Prameela while the injured identified as Prabhavati,38, Lalitha,34,Appasab,40, and Lalita,11,all are residents of Yarandahalli near Bommasandra.

The mini goods vehicle was driven by Prameela’s husband Venkata Shivaiah,45,who escaped with minor injuries and filed a complaint .

Senior officer told reporters the accident occurred at around 6.15 am,when the victims were returning home in the early hours in their vehicle after visiting a relative.

Both the canter and the mini goods vehicle were moving towards Veerasanda junction from Konappana Agrahara.

When the canter driver in a rash and negligence mannger collided with the mini goods vehicle.

Due to the impact the vehicle toppled and the Prameela sustained severe head injuries and started bleeding profusely.

She along with other injured rushed to a near-by hospital,where the doctors declared Prameela as brought dead.

The Electronics City traffic police rushed to spot and found that the canter driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot soon after the accident .

Efforts are on to track him down to ascertain whether he was under the influence of alcohol,he added.

Former secretary of waqf board arrested for misappropriating funds to the tune of Rs.2.2 Lakhs

A week after being appointed as Administrative officer of Anjuman-E-Niswan,institution registered under Waqf board,the Bharati Nagar police on Friday arrested former secretary of the board for pocketing Rs.2.2 lakh belonging to the institution.

The accused,Imtiyaz Pasha, was arrested based on the complaint filed by,Khazi Nafeesa,AO of the institute who found discrepancies in the accounts.Ms.Nafeesa took over as AO on August 4 .

Inquiries revealed that Imtiyaz pasha despite the government dissolved the board to appoint administrative officer,he continue to excercise his power illegally for his personal gain.

The accused had terminated the service of a data entry operator and fee collector and replaced her with a Hindi teacher with an instruction to collect the rent from the shops and commercial establishments belonging to the institutes and hand it over to him.

As per the instruction,the newly appointed fee collector Summaiyya Mushtaq,collected the rent for the month of July and handed it over to Imtiyaz instead of depositing in the official account.

The incident came to light when Ms.Nafeesa verified the documents of the institute and inquired with fee collector before filing a complaint with the police.

The Bharthinagar police have registered a case charging Imtiyaz under Misappropriation, Criminal breach of trust and cheating against him. Imtiyaz is presently out on bail while police the Administrative office is further probing to ascertain possibility of more cheating and misappropriation .

Four including junk shop owner arrested for stealing batteries recovered stolen batteries worth Rs.5 lakhs

The North Division police of Malleshwaram police on Monday arrested four persons including owner of a junk shop and recovered 100 batteries worth Rs.5 lakh from them.

Senior officer told reporters,Based on a complaint that six batteries have been stolen from a RMU unit (an an electrical power distribution system, a ring main unit (RMU) is a factory assembled, metal enclosed set of switch gear used at the load connection points) situated near government college on 18th cross in Malleshwaram.

Acting on the complaint PI,Malleshwaram and his team swung into action the police team verified the CCTV footage in and around the area and with the technical inputs the team track down the accused.

During investigation the accused confessed the crime and based on their statement the team have also seized three autorickshaws including two passengers and a goods autorikshaw from the accused which they used to move around and transport stolen batteries.

A detailed investigation by the team it has revealed that the prime accused having a junk shop at Kogilu cross used to rope in three of his associates from his home town in Tamil Nadu and steal the batteries installed at the BESCOM units in and around the city.

With their arrest the police recovered 100 batteries and cracked 11 batteries theft cases reported in Malleshwaram, Srirampura,Sheshadripuram,Varthur,Vyyalikaval, Giri Nagar,Sadashivanagar and Halasuru police station limits.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy,has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP North,Vinayak Patil,ACP Malleshwaram Sub-Division,Praveen M,PI, Chandrashekhar M,PSIs,as,Vinod Jirgale,Srishaila Uttagi,and crime staff as,Mehboob Sab,Umesh,Sunil Kumar,Subhash,Amaresh,Chandan,Ananth kumar,and others has been appreciated for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the notorious battery thieves gang and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.

Gang of four including Woman abducted civil engineer at gun point promising government project,tortures him in bid to extort Rs.4 crore

The Byatarayanapura police are on the lookout for a gang of four including a 32-year-old woman who abducted a civil engineer to extort a ransom of Rs.25 lakh at gun point from him on August 11 .

The accused are identified as Pushpavathy and her associates Santosh,Ayappa and Rakesh had demanded Rs.4 crore and after several rounds of negotiations they settled for Rs. 25 lakh,which the victim called his friend to arrange the amount .

The accused had tortured the victim Suraj Srinivasamurthy, 36,resident of Hanumanth Nagar,by assaulting him with belt after tying his hands and legs and gagged his mouth for several hours.

After the release,Suraj got admitted to Victoria hospital before he approached the Byatarayanapura police and filed a complaint on Thursday.

In his complaint Suraj said that he was introduced to Pushpavathy,through a realtor on assurance of getting government project.

Pushpavathy met him few times before inviting him to a office of charitable trust near Gaali Anjaneyswamy temple.

When Suraj went to the office Pushpavathy introduced him to a man identified as Santosh as PA to IAS officer.

While they were chatting over the project,two of Santosh associates identified as Ayyappa and Rakesh snatched his mobile phone and overpowered and tied his hands and legs at gun point .

While Suraj was baffled with their behaviour,the accused pulled out a revolver and threatened Suraj to kill him if he did not pay a ransom of Rs. 4 crore .

Suraj told them that he did not have that kind of money even if he sell his house.

However the accused were adamant and even said that he could consider the amount as loan and they would return,Suraj said in his complaint .

They tortured him for several hours to pester him to get the money and after several rounds of negotiations settled the amount for ₹ 25 lakh.

The accused forced Suraj to call his friend to arrange the amount and released him .

He further said that Pushpavathy had even threatened to foist a rape charged against Suraj if he complaint to the police .

The police have registered a case of assault, extortion,wrongful confinement,criminal intimidation and also under arms act on Thursday .

We suspect that something fishy in the entire episode and investigations are on to find out the exact reason behind the abduction said a senior officer.
