Health Minister Dr.Sudhakar announces Logo competition for Namma Clinics

Winners to receive an award from the Chief Minister and Health Minister.

Submissions open from August 5 and end on August 10.

Attention logo designers and enthusiasts! Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar has invited interested citizens to submit logo designs for the state government’s Namma Clinic initiative.

The minister also stated that the winner of the contest will be awarded by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar.

Everyone interested in participating can start submitting their logo designs from August 5. Submissions continue for the next 10 days and close August 15.

Participants can submit their designs for the competition at: logo4nammaclinic@gmail.com

The Karnataka government has decided to open 438 “Namma Clinics” in urban centres across the state including one each in every ward of BBMP.

The main focus of Namma Clinics is to bolster health infrastructure and make healthcare more accessible to economically weaker sections in urban areas.

We have decided to present the ‘Karnataka Ratna’ award to Kannada film star Dr Puneeth Rajkumar on November 1,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommmai said.

Speaking to media persons after inauguration the Independence Day Flower Show at the Lalbagh Glass House,Bommai said,a committee would be formed to make preparations for the award presentation ceremony.

Members of Dr Rajkumar’s family would also be included as members of the committee.We all together will present the award posthumously to Puneeth in a highly dignified manner.

The flower show being held annually since 1922 has been attracting huge crowds every year.This year it is even more attractive as the nation is celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

It is set to attract lakhs of people over the next 10 days,Bommai said.

This year the flower show has been organised as a tribute to Dr Rajkumar and Puneeth Rajkumar. So we are expecting a bigger response,Bommai said.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of Horticulture minister Munirathna and officials of Horticulture department for the good work.

Two Member Robbery gang arrested by Ramamurthynagar police recovered Rs.4 Lakhs stolen cash

The Ramamurthynagar police on Friday arrested two members of a robbery gang and recovered Rs.4 lakh which they along with their associates had stolen from the bootspace of the parked scooter in front of an ATM of SBI Bank Opposite Hormavu Main Road on June 15.

The accused have been identified as Vijesh and Gopi.

Senior officer told reporters,the duo accused hailed from Tamil Nadu while others were on the run.

During investigation it was found that the accused modus operandi is to wait for people who would come to bank to withdraw heavy cash and follow them to steal the cash.

The victim Albert Joseph had withdrawn Rs.4 lakh and kept it in the bootspace of his scooter . On the way he stopped the scooter near an ATM to withdraw some more cash.

While the victim was busy in the ATM the accused break open the seat,took the cash and escaped .

The incident came to light when the victim returned to his scooter and found the cash missing.

Based on the complaint,the police analyzed the CCTV footage and identify the accused through the bike they were using and arrested them.

The duo was taken into custody to ascertain possible involvement in other cases while efforts are on to track the other members of the gang he added.

Fake Stamp Paper Racket Busted by CCB,11 Member gang arrested, Recovered 2664 fake Stamp Papers worth of Rs.5.11 Lakhs

The special Enquiry Wing of Central Crime Branch on Friday busted a fake stamp paper racket and arrested a gang of 11 persons who are operating from the typing pool of Kandaya Bhavan,situated close to Deputy Commissioner’s office .

The accused identified as,Vishwanath,Karthik, Venkatesh,Shamraju,Shashidhar,Kariyappa, Ravishankar,Shivashankarappa,Gureushankar , Raghava N and Kishore .

Joint Commissioner of Police,Crime, Raman Gupta told reporters our DCP,Crime-1,received a credible information about the fake Stamp Papers being sold in shops in kandaya Bhavan.

Based on a tip off,a team of police led by DCP,Dr SD.Sharanappa,and his team raided the shop and arrested a person,recovered 2664 fake stamp papers some of them dated back to Mysore Maharaja period and stampers,computers, printers and seals total worth Rs.5.11 lakh.

During the raid The team have also seized fake stamp papers of old dates from 1990,1995,2002 and 2009 with fake GPA details to claim the ownership of the properties in and around Bengaluru.

The accused would prepare the stamp papers of old dates and sell it to the land grabbers who want to file civil suite to claim the ownership of the property and later clinch a deal with the genuine landlords through out of court settlements.

The accused would sell the stamp papers to the price depending upon the value of the property and the dates.

These fake stamp papers prepared by the accused are being used in various government offices to cheat and claim benefits,since for the last few years.

The accused even have network of stamp paper vendors at taluk office in and around the city to run their racket .

The accuse have been taken into custody and investigations are on to ascertain their network and beneficiaries of the accused.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Joint CP Crime,Raman Gupta,DCP Crime-1,Dr SD Sharanappa,and his team as,ACPs,as,TV Suresh and other officers and staff has been appreciated for the exemplary work done by them in nabbing 11 Member gang who was selling Fake Stamp Papers to make easy money and become Rich in shortcut is landed in Jail and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.

Notorious Inter-state Chain Snatcher arrested by Mico layout police Recovered Stolen gold ornaments worth Rs.6.5 Lakhs

The Mico Layout police on Friday arrested a 31-year-old inter state notorious chain snatcher wanted by the police of three states .

The accused Amul Balasaab Shinde,using his professional bike riding skills created havoc in the states of Maharastra,AP and Tamil Nadu with his chain snatching spree,before he entered the city in the last week of July and took the help of his associate Jitu bora to get logistic help.

Senior officer told reporters,Based on the complaint,a special team headed by Mr.Choudhari and team swung into action and analyzed over 212 CCTV footage from the reverse directions to identify his location.

RS Choudhari,Inspector,Mico Layout station,who track down the accused with his conventional method of policing,said that Amul had stayed in a OYO room on Bannerghatta road and tampered the registration plate of the hoodwink the police .

He would move around the city to target women walking alone near parks during evening time,his targets are always women since there are minimal resistance and the time he had selected to get a cover as even if there are cctv cameras,it would not capture the image due to bad light .

Using this technique the accused committed two chain snatching back to back at Mico layout and JP Nagar.

After zeroing in on the location he profile the area and set up a watch team who managed to pin him down finally .

The police recovered two chains worth Rs.6.5 lakh from him while efforts are on to track down his associate who is presently on the run.

The accused had committed several chain snatching in Chennai and arrested.But he managed to come out on bail and came to city and committed two offences before moving to other metros.

Non-locals will be BJP voters, says Mehbooba

SRINAGAR:  With all political parties except BJP criticising inclusion of non locals in the voter list in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, National Conference president and Gupkar Alliance chairman Farooq Abdullah has called for an All Party Meeting (APM) on August 22 to evolve a joint strategy against the controversial move. The APM will be held on August 22 at 11 am at Abdullah’s Gupkar residence.

PDP chief and former J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti while addressing the press conference after the meeting said that now BJP’s 25 lakh voters will be added to the voter list and termed inclusion of non locals in voter list as the last “nail in the coffin of electoral democracy here”.

“The system of democracy in J&K is being suppressed by the central government as new experiments are being done by BJP here for their interest,” she said adding, “BJP is trying to destroy J&K but we should unite and save our territory”.

NC leader Tanvir Sadiq termed the move to allow non locals to vote in J&K Assembly polls as “clear-cut de-franchising” of the people of J&K.

Speaking to media persons after participating in a function organised by the Council of Architecture,Bommai said,the reservation matrix has been prepared in accordance with the 2015 High Court order.

Replying to a question Bommai said,the Congress had also done it when they were in power.

They should introspect on what they had done. We all know what had happened in each constituency.

Rs.34,432 cr investment proposals approved,Employment potential for 48,850 persons,SHLCC approves 18 investment proposals

The State High Level Clearance Committee headed by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai cleared 18 projects with total investments of Rs34,432.46 cr at its 59th meeting.

The projects are expected to create employment opportunities for 48,850 persons.

The projects include 8 new industrial establishments including one from Toyota and 10 additional investment proposals from existing units.

Speaking after the meeting the Chief Minister Said, industries in Ethanol,Aerospace, Semiconductors,machine manufacturing,steel and automobile sectors have come forward to invest and they have been cleared.

Large and Medium Industries minister Murugesh Nirani,Water Resources minister,Govind Karjol, Sugar minister Shankar Patil Munenakoppa, Horticulture minister Muniratna and senior officials were present.

State forms State Institute for Transformation of Karnataka on the lines of NITI Aayog at the Centre

The State government has issued an order forming the State Institute for Transformation of Karnataka(SITK),in place of Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission,on the lines of NITI Aayog at the Centre.

The new institution has been created to realise the mission of building a New Karnataka for a New India.

The Vice Chairperson for SITK,an expert in government planning and other issues, would be appointed soon.

The State government would provide Rs.150 cr annually to enable SITK to function effectively and achieve its goals.

It would have 8 domain experts representing the fields of planning,economics,social welfare,rural development,education,health,agriculture, science and technology,skills development, employment and clean energy as advisers.

Sections

It would have planning,economics,social welfare,rural development,education,health, agriculture,science and technology,skills development,employment and clean energy sections.

Domain experts

Additional Secretary in the department of Planning, programme implementation and statistics would function as the Chief Executive Officer and Adviser for the SITK.

Domain experts in poverty alleviation,revenue, food and nutrition,simplification of services, clean and Green energy,resources management, gender equality,industry and infrastructure, innovation and skills development would also be appointed.

Stakeholders

The state government will nominate 14 renowned government and non-government organisations including IISc,IIMB,NLSU as stakeholders in the institute.

Three Storeyed building collapsed,Goods worth around Rs.50 lakhs destroyed in Mamulpet

A three storeyed building collapsed and goods worth around Rs.50 lakh destroyed in Mamulpet due to heavy rains in the early hours of Saturday.

The two Upper portions of the building meant for the residential purpose were vacant for the past many years while the ground floor was rented to three shops,where around 20 people were working.

Luckily no one injured as the incident occurred in the wee hours and no one was around.

One of the owner of the shop complained that he had informed the owners to repair the uppar portion of the vacant building as the ceiling used to leak heavily whenever there is rain.

The shop keepers had even sent notices to the owners in this regard but in vain.

The incident took place at around 3 am when residents heard the heavy creaking sound and rushed out to notice the building is crumbling down.

The patrolling police along with the fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot to cordoned the area and later removed the debris with the help of JCBs.

There was little damaged to the adjacent building as the old building went down straight and not fell on the adjacent building,a police officer,said.

The BBMP officials,with MLA,Dinesh Gundu Rao,Uday Gardudachar with ex corporator Shivkumar also visited the spot to take stock of the situation.

It many be recalled that the BBMP in the earlier building collapse incident,assured to conduct audit for the old buildings and give necessary directions,but nothing has been done so far,
a police officer,added.
