Two drug peddlers arrested, Inter-state drug racket busted by KG Halli police,16 grams heroin Seized

The KG halli police on Tuesday busted an interstate drug racket and caught two persons from Manipur for peddling heroine in the city.

The accused has been identified as,Sameer and Khan hailing from Manipur.

Senior officer told reporters,The accused were caught red handed when they were waiting for the customers to deliver the drugs.

During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it is revealed that the accused would source the heroine from mynamar border bring it to city concealed in wheat flour packets and sell it to their customers after filling the drugs in small capsules.

Each capsules containing one gram of heroine which is being sold between Rs.3000 to Rs.4000 per gram, a senior police office said.

The accused comes to city every fortnight with the drugs and sell it among close circles. The customer had to tell them the code to get his supply.

This code will be given by the peddlers to the regular customer and the code name changes from time to time.

We have seized 16 grams of heroin from the accused possession and further investigation are on to ascertain their network.

Both the accused has been booked under NDPS Act and further investigation is on he added.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP East,Dr SD Sharanappa,and his whole team for the commendable job done by them in nabbing the duo and seizing heroin from their possession which they were stored to sell it on New year eve and make easy money has landed them in jail he added.

Mentally disturbed woman carried stray bullet in hotel car parking created panic situation

A stray bullet was found in the car parking of a star hotel opposite Jakkur airport on Friday afternoon, triggering a rift among the police, suspected of disruptive activities

Senior officers along with dog squad,bomb squad and other staff rushed to spot and cordoned off the area as precautionary measures.

senior officer as, DCP Northeast, CK Baba along with other officers rushed to spot and after inspecting the spot and collecting stock of the situation he said,The incident came to light when Fayaz Ahmed , housekeeping staff of the hotel found the bullet at the parking lot while sweeping on Friday afternoon.He alerted his manager who in turn alerted Yelahanka police.

The Yelahanka police inspector and team rushed to the spot and cordoned the area for further investigations after registering the case under Indian Arms Act.

A team of police rushed to the hotel and summoned the Bomb Detection Squad who insepcted the entire hotel to find another bullet in the flower pot of the hotel .

The police team analyzed the CCTV footage to find a woman throwing in the bullet into the flower pot.

The police with the help of other footage tracked down the woman with the help of vehicle registration number and found that the family belonged to a retired captain of the air force and hailed from north India .

Further investigations revealed that the family owned a licensed german made rifle and the woman who said to be mentally disturbed carried the ammunition to the hotel and threw it around.

The Yelahanka police on Monday summoned the family and recorded their statement for further investigations.

The police are now filing a detailed report before the court seeking permission to close the case he added.

Kengeri police arrested two Drug peddlers seized 7 kilos of Marijuana

The West Division police of Kengeri police on Thursday arrested two persons and recovered seven kilos of Marijuana and an autorickshaw from them.

The accused has been identified as Irfan Pasha and Imra Pasha from Mysore road were caught red handed while selling the drugs to the customers on Kengeri main road.

Senior officer told media persons,based on instructions by the commissioner of police Kamal Pant,special squads are formed to check on drug peddlers and consumers in the city and bring control in drug abuse.

The team received a credible information that some two persons are waiting near Kengeri main road with drugs in their possession to deliver to their clients.

Acting on tip-off Kengeri police inspector, Vasanth C and special team rushed to the spot and kept a close watch on the duo and when they duo were found selling drugs substance as marijuana to their clients was caught red handed.

The team secured them and during investigation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that they sourced the drugs from their contact in the outskirts of the city and smuggled into the city concealing in the vegetable and greens.

The duo have been booked under NDPS Act and taken into custody and further investigations are on to track down the network and the source of the drugs he added.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP, Kodandarama,PI Vasanth C and his whole team who has acted Swiftly and arrested duo who were peddling drugs in city a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.

Armed gang tied hands and legs of two women in the house and looted gold and cash in Hosakote

In a filmi style two robbers barged into the house, tied up elderly woman and her daughter in law ransacked the house and made away with 200 grams of gold and other valuables worth Rs.2 lakh.

Additional SP,Lakshmi Ganesh with other staff rushed to spot and inspected the whole area and after stock of the situation he said the will supervised the investigation to nab the armed gang.

The incident occurred at a house in kannurahalli in hosakote in the early hours of Thursday.

Basamma woke up and was sipping coffee soon after her son left to work,while daughter in law was busy with the chores inside the house

The accused armed with lethal weapon barged into the house and tied up Basamma and gagged her mouth before she could resist.

The daughter in law was later targetted by the accused who then tied her hands and legs and locked her up in a room before taking away their gold valuables.The duo ransacked the house to look for valuables and escaped.

The duo even threatened Basamma to kil her if she raise her voice.

The robbery came to light when neighbours visited the house and found the duo tied up.

The hoskote police rushed to the spot and conducted investigation.

We suspect that the accused have reccee the house before striking.

The Hosakote police inspector and his team are gathering evidence to identify the accused and two special teams formed to nab the armed gang and further investigation is on.

Three of a family including two woman commit suicide in Ramanagar over trivial row

In a tragic incident,a family of four including 11 year old jumped into a lake to end life in magadi taluk in the outskirts of the city on Wednesday, while three of them drowned the 11 year old daughter was rescued and hospitalised by villagers who were alerted by younger daughter.

The deceased have been identified Siddamma (55), her daughter Sumithra (33) and son-in-law Hanumantha Raju (35).

Senior police officer visited the spot and after collecting information he said,the incident occurred in Dammanakatte village of Magadhi Taluk in Ramnagara district.

A family dispute is said to be the reason for the incident. Initially, five of the family had decided to commit suicide by jumping into the lake on Wednesday morning.

However, deceased Sumithra’s another daughter who is 10-year-old refused to jump and managed to escape. She informed the villagers about the incident.

The villagers then rushed to the spot and rescued the other girl Keerthana while she was drowning .

However,three elderly members had drowned to death by the time the villagers reached there. Their bodies were later recovered .

Hanumantha Raju,worked as agricultural labourer and was an alcoholic and stayed at her in-law’s place.He would come home drunk and fight with family over trivial issue.

Unable to bear harassment the family decided to end life and walked into the lake and jumped.

The police are now awaiting to record the statement of Keerthana for further investigation.

Woman commits suicide over alleged harassment: husband held by jnanabharathi police

A 26-year old homemaker ended life due to alleged harassment from her husband in Jnanabharathi on Monday evening.

The deceased Ranjitha, Married to Manjunath, a private firm employee , five years ago and the couple had two children.

Senior officer said, the deceased was reportedly harassed by Manjunath and on Monday night she went to the room and locked herself from inside before hanging to the ceiling of the house 

The incident came to light the next morning when Ranjitha mother came home to visit her.

Based on the complaint the police have taken up a case of dowry harassment and taken Manjunath into custody for questioning.

Mico layout police arrested two peddlers, Inter-state drug racket busted,Hashish Oil Worth Rs.5 Crore seized

The Southeast Division police of Mico layout police on Wednesday busted an inter state drug racket and arrested two persons peddling hashish oil in the city .

The accused has been identified as,Prakash and Dorairaju.

Senior officer told reporters,Mico layout police Inspector, Ghorpade received a credible information that two persons are selling Hashish Oil for the new year party to college students and IT Professionals and are in possession of huge quantity of Hashish Oil.

The team received a reliable inputs that two persons are waiting for their clients at an empty site beside the SNN Raj Lake View Apartment in Bengaluru’s BTM 2nd stage.

Based on tip off the team swung into action and surrounded the area from all the corners and kept a close watch on the duo and after getting confirmation the team secured both of them while they were selling drugs to their clients the Anti-Narcotics Squad secured them for questioning.

During investigation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that they have sourced the drugs from their contact in Visakhapatnam and smuggled into the city by public transport to sell it to their customers on the new year eve.

Based on their statement the team have recovered 5 kgs of hashish oil and a few grams of Marijuana worth Rs 5 crore from them which they have to stores to circulate for the new year eve to Students,Elite people,and make easy money to lead a lavish life.

The police have stepped up vigil as the new year celebrations are around the corner and possible sale of drugs are on the rise .

The accused have been booked under NDPS act and taken into custody to ascertain their network .

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP Southeast,Srinath Mahadev Joshi,ACP, Sudheer M,PI, Ghorpade and his whole team who has done a tremendous and exemplary work in nabbing the duo notorious drug peddlers and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.

Decision on extension of legislature session after discussion: CM Bommai

Karnataka Chief Minister,Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said a decision on extending the duration of the legislative session including the joint session and budget session will be taken after a discussion.

Presenting his opinion on the view that the session should have more meaningful discussions in the Assembly,Bommai said there would be no problem if the members adhere to the rules and procedures of conduct in the House.

Both the houses of legislature have a rich tradition.There are rules and procedures to raise the issues. We should conduct ourselves accordingly.

Referring to making best use of the time allotted for debates Bommai said,opposition parties should naturally get more time and importance.

A system of allotting time to a political party according to its strength in the house is in practice in the Lok Sabha.The problem could be resolved if the same system is adopted here.

Along with extension of duration of the session, a close look is also needed to examine the effectiveness of the debates witnessed in the house,he said.

K’taka Flood: Left Out Houses To Get Compensation, Says Bommai

The Karnataka government has initiated measures to provide compensation for the houses damaged during the 2019 floods whose details were not uploaded in the compensation software app, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Tuesday.

“Compensation would be paid to the owners of 7,600 such houses too,” the Chief Minister said in the Assembly in his reply during the debate on flood havoc.

Belagavi had suffered heavily during the 2019 floods. Deadline was extended thrice to upload the details on houses destroyed or damaged.

Details of damage to over 7700 houses were not uploaded in the App. However after studying the ground reality compensation has been released for 7600 eligible families, Bommai said.

No such hitch was reported in 2020-21. For the year 2021-22 Deputy Commissioners have been vested with powers to grant compensation based on reports of Tahsildars, Bommai said.

Of the 36,698 houses completely destroyed, construction of 18,589 houses have been completed, 7000 houses almost completed. Construction of 3130 houses is yet to be taken up due to legal and administrative hurdles, the Chief Minister said.
