Govindapura Drug case: Prestige group company senior women executive,Anjum questioned in allegedly linked with African Drug Peddler !

A Senior woman executive of a city based top construction company was questioned by the Govindapura police on Thursday in connection with a drug peddling case.

The police have questioned her in detail about links to Nigerian drug peddler,Thomas Anagha Kalu,47 who was arrested in August this year investigation revealed that Kalu was supplying synthetic drugs to celebraties and their star parties .

The police subjected the suspect to medical examination to ascertain whether she was addicted to drugs.

A senior police officer said the WhatsApp messages in Kalu’s phone had revealed his link with the woman executive.

The message was related to the exchange of narcotic substances.Hence,she was issued a notice to appear for enquiry about two months ago but she had not turned up.

As we have intensified the probe in drug cases, she was summoned again,the officer said.

On Thursday,the woman appeared before the police inspector of Govindapura station and recorded her statement.

We have collected her samples and will be sent for medical tests to determine drug consumption,the officer added.

In August this year the police had raided the house of model Sonia Agarwal (29),who was allegedly in contact with Kalu,and had seized drugs.

Later, she was arrested from a star hotel where she was reportedly hiding in the toilet of her room.

Disc Jockey Vachan Chinnappa and a realtor, Bharath,were also arrested the same day.It was alleged that Kalu supplied drugs to budding models and those who attended parties in star hotels and pubs.

Covid19 Mobile Vaccination Vans flagged off by BBMP Chief Commissioner, Gaurav Gupta

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has roped in various Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to expand the Covid vaccination drive in the city.

Vaccination Vans provided by donors under their Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) were flagged off by BBMP Chief Commissioner,Gaurav Gupta here in BBMP premises today.

The 6 vans are provided with a motive of intensifying vaccination against covid-19 in the city.

The purpose of the program is reaching the unreached.As part of CSR initiatives,3M India,GE, Vaccine On Wheels and United Way Bengaluru have come together to vaccinate marginalized population within the 4 zones of BBMP (Dasarahalli,East,Mahadevapura & Bommanahalli).

As per this program,six vaccination vans are deployed at the mentioned zones.A detailed program implementation strategy has been worked out with the Health Officers and the Medical Officers in charge of the Urban Primary Health Centers (UPHC) of the above mentioned four zones.

Each vaccination van will have a Vaccinator and a Data entry operator.Vaccination will be held (door to door visit) as per the guidance of UPHC’s Medical Officer.

Through these vaccination vans,it is estimated to vaccinate about 50,000 eligible unvaccinated persons till March 2022.

A total of 1,48,80,522 doses of vaccine have been administered in the city so far.Among which, 83,03,237 are first dose and 65,77,285 are second dose vaccinated.

Vaccination is being done in all the Urban Primary Health Centers (PHCs) of BBMP limits and at Mega Vaccination Centers set up in Yelahanka’s Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Bhavan and Malleshwaram’s Youngsters Kabaddi ground.Walk in and drive through vaccination also been arranged.

Other than this,vaccination is being ensured through door to door visit in respective ward’s block and lane levels after identifying unvaccinated persons.

Along with this, several NGOs,with an intention of ensuring full vaccination in the city,have joined hands with BBMP by providing vehicles and Necessary staff too.

During the flagging off of vaccination vans, BBMP Special Commissioner (Health) Dr. Trilok Chandra, Chief Health Officer Dr. Balasundar and other officials were present.

Miscreants steal Rs.10 lakh from Real estate firm owners car by breaking windshield of car in Chandra Layout

The Chandra layout police are on the lookout for a gang who broke open the windshield of a parked car and escaped with Rs.10 lakh on December 9.

The cash belonging to a real estate firm owner who had asked his manager to get the money from the bank,as he had a family program at home.

Mr.Srinivasan,manager,Withdrew cash from two banks and returning home with the driver.

On the way the tyre got punctured and the duo parked the car on roadside and changed the tyre before going to have tea at the near by shop.

When they returned they found the windshield of the car is broken and cash bag is missing.

Senior officer said based on complaint we are analyzing the CCTV footage from in and around the area to identify the accused.

We suspect that the miscreants might have followed the car after puncturing the tyre,which is one of the common form they used ro steal valuables.

We are also not ruling out the possibility of the involvement of insiders.A case has been registered and special crime squad headed by ACP Kengerigate sub-division has been formed and the miscreants will be nabbed soon he added.

R.I.P Group Capt.Singh :Nation has lost a brave soldier: K’taka CM on Group Captain Varun Singh’s demise

A decorated air warrior, Group Captain Varun Singh succumbed to his injuries this morning at the Air Force`s Command Hospital here, a week after he was seriously injured in the chopper crash near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on December 8.

CM condoles death of Capt.Varun Singh

Chief Minister,Basavaraj Bommai has expressed his grief at the demise of Group Captain Varun Singh.

The Chief Minister in his condolence message said, “I am extremely saddened at the death of Group Captain Varun Singh.The nation has lost a brave soldier in his death.

Capt Varun Singh was seriously injured in the helicopter crash that claimed the life of Chief of Defense Staff Gen.Bipin Rawat. He was being treated at the Command Hospital in Bengaluru.

I convey my deep condolences to his family. I pray to the almighty to give strength to his family members to bear this loss. Om Shanthi.”he said in his tweet.

Death of Captain Varun Singh is a huge loss for the country, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said expressing his condolence on the demise of the officer who was seriously injured in the helicopter crash that took the life of Chief of Defense Staff Gen Bipin Rawat.

Speaking to media persons he said,Capt.Varun Singh had suffered 80% burn injuries.He was provided best medical treatment, but it is sad that he has breathed his last.Mother India has lost a brave soldier in his death.

It is not just the Indian armed forces, people of the entire country are in grief. His entire family is associated with the military.I pray to the almighty to bless his soul and give the strength to his family members to bear this loss.”

Replying to a question about the charges leveled against a minister by opposition Congress members in the Legislative Council, Bommai said that he would not be appropriate to reply to issues that were raised in the house he added.

Bommai along with Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot had visited the Air Force’s Command Hospital in Bengaluru on December 9 to inquire about Singh’s health.

Initially admitted to a hospital at Wellington in the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu with 80 per cent burns, Singh was shifted to Bengaluru’s Command Hospital on December 9 evening, for higher treatment.

General Rawat,his wife Madhulika Rawat,and 11 other defence personnel were killed when a Mi17V5 helicopter carrying them crashed near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on December 8.

Expressing grief over the passing away of Group Captain Varun Singh, former CM BS Yediyurappa said, “He (Singh) laid down his life in the line of duty. My condolences to his family and friends. May the brave soldier attain Sadgati. Om Shanti.”

The meeting of Chief Ministers,of BJP ruled states held at Varanasi discussed and exchanged views on many public welfare programmes being implemented by these states, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on his return to Belagavi on Tuesday.

Leaders discussed public welfare programmes run in their states at the meeting of Chief Ministers of Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled states chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Varanasi, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on his return to Belagavi on Tuesday.

According to a statement by the Chief Minister’s Office, CM Bommai said, “The meeting chaired by the Prime Minister fostered interaction among the Chief Ministers to exchange details on the implementation of various Centrally sponsored projects in their respective states. We exchanged details on good practices in implementing public welfare programmes.”Bommai Said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday chaired a meeting with the Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi.
This comes a day after PM Modi had chaired a meeting with the BJP Chief Ministers and Deputy chief ministers here yesterday.

Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states are scheduled to visit Ayodhya on December 15 for the darshan of Ram Lalla.

BJP has performed well in the Legislative Council election from the local bodies constituency,the result has given satisfaction,Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai said.

Speaking to media persons on the poll outcome on his arrival from Varanasi,he said,BJP has already won 11 seats and we have requested for recount in Mysuru.We had expected to win 13-14 seats.We will discuss the result with our senior leadership.

Last time we won 6 seats and we have gained 5 more this time.Our strength in Gram Panchayats has improved compared to last time.Based on this we will try to bolster the party’s strength,iron out the chinks.

Replying to a question about the possibility of any action against former minister,Ramesh Jarkiholi,he said that it would be decided after discussing the issue in the party forum.

We know what is Congress’ Dum :

Reacting to former Chief Minister,Siddaramaiah’s statement,BJP is a party without Dum(guts), Bommai said,we know what is their Dum.

He could not retain his own seat as the Chief Minister.Congress lost power under his leadership as the Chief Minister.He should understand that he added.

Basaveshwaranagar police arrested Six including 3 woman within 12 hours,for blackmailing business partners,two absconding valuables recovered

The West Division police of Basaveshwara Nagar police tracked and arrested a gang of six including woman within 12 hours of crime who robbed a businesswoman and her partner worth over Rs.9.5 lakh worth gold valuables and cash after blackmailing them that they are doing immoral activities on sunday.

Senior officer told media persons,as on Sunday our control room got a call stating that around 8 persons including four woman barged into their house and took away gold and cash worth of Rs.9.5 lakhs.

As soon as the information was passed to Basaveshwara Nagar police station senior officer as,DCP West, Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP,Vijayanagar, Nanjundegowda K,PI,E Yeriswamy,and their crime staff rushed to the spot and after inspecting the spot a special team was formed to nab the gang.

A special team headed by PI, Yeriswamy,PSI,Sathish and team swung into action and after collecting details about the incident from the victim the team started analysing CCTV footage in and around the area and with the help of technical inputs the zeroed in on six persons.

After apprehending six person and during investigation all the six accused confessed the crime and revealed how they hatched a plan to trap the businesswoman and her partner.

The accused during investigation revealed that the prime accused Deepa knew that the victim,Anju J was living alone and selling clothes and cosmetics in her house for her livelihood with her business partner.

The prime accused Deepa who kept a close watch on the duo and monitored their movements and knew about Anju’s business hatched a plan and roped her associates to rob her.

As per the plan,Deepa visited Anju to discuss about Cloth business when Anju’s business partner Jagadisha has come to supply cosmetics.

While Anju,Deepa and Jagadish were discussing business, Deepa shared information with her pals
comprising of four women and four men barged into the house, and accused them of carrying out immoral activities,they then disrobed Jagadish and videographed him with Deepa and blackmailed them of doing viral on social media platforms.

The accused then demanded ransom of Rs.5 lakh and ransacked the house and took away gold valuables and cash Rs.1.7 lakh when Jagadish refused to pay.

The accused along with Deepa fled from the scene after locking Anju and Jagadish in the house .

Anju managed to open the door and with the help of neighbours alerted the control room.

Based on their statement the team recovered 152.5 grams of gold valuables,a mobile phone and cash Rs.63,000 and a scooter which they used in the crime.

A detailed investigation by the team it has revealed that the accused are known to each other and are working as manual labouers in the industrial area.They robbed the woman and the business partner of gold and cash Later took money from PhonePe of the male person and miked him with Rs.1.82 paise this also helped us to track them down soon,and efforts are on to nab the other two a male and woman of the gang who are absconding a team is on job to track them and will be nabbed soon and further investigation is on to ascertain their criminal background.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP K Nanjundegowda,PI,E Yeriswamy,PSI,Sathish Kumar,Kubera,and crime staff as, Puttaswamy,Mohammed Ali,Raghu,Ramesh,Rupesh,Srinivas,and other crime staff who has done a meticulous investigation and detected the case within 12 hours by arresting a six accused and recovered robbed gold ornaments and cash from them a special reward will be given to the whole team for their excellent investigation in solving the case he added.
