The North Division police of Subramanyanagar Police have cracked a blind and clueless murder case of an elderly woman from Andhra Pradesh who went missing from Bengaluru in March this year,two persons arrested in this connection.

A 47-year-old woman who went missing seven months ago killed her in cold blood to take over her property .

The arrested accused have been identified as Noor Ahmed and Sathyanarayana from Karnul in Andhra Pradesh.

Investigation officer said,Seetha had come to her sister’s house four months ago.She never returned after going out for some work .

We couldn’t trace her even after searching in Bengaluru and Mantralayam.Meanwhile, Venkatesh Achar,the missing lady’s younger brother was kidnapped in Mantralayam,and released only after getting his signatures on stamp papers .

The property document read that they are selling their two acre ancestral property to those persons and they,in turn,are selling it to a third party .

After we got the concrete evidence and information,investigation,was expedited and based on the clues,we gathered technical evidence and nabbed two persons who spilled the beans how they roped in and kidnapped the woman and murdered her.

The accused had kidnapped Seeta from Bengaluru on March 26 and took her to Hospet in Vijayanagara.They forcibly took her signatures on property documents,and made her swallow a cyanide capsule,in the pretext of giving medicine for headache and later dumped her body into the canal .

We have launched hunt for other accused persons,and search operation to track the body.

Senior officer told media persons,a missing case was registered in Subramanyanagar Police station in the month of March by the vicitm brother that her sister is missing after she went out to do shopping and has not return.

The Subramanyanagar Police inspector and his team made all efforts to search the woman but they find any clue.

After seven months the Subramanyanagar Police inspector,Sanjeev Gowda received a video clipping from one of the accused friend who had recorded the conversation in a bar while drinking his friend named Satya revealed that they have killed a woman after getting supari from his relative.

Acting on the information the inspector and his team swung into action the team based on the video clipping nabbed the accused identified as Satya alias Satyanarayana a realtor by profession.

The inspector took the case as challenging and seriously and swung into action with,PSIs,as,Smt.Latha,PSI,Amaraiah and other crime staff swung into action.

Crime teams were pressed into action one team was busy in gathering information about the family members,another team was busy in analysing CCTV footage,and other team was busy in checking call details and after analysing the records the team picked one more accused by name Noor Ahmed his associate.

After arresting both the accused the team questioned them and during investigation the team were not convinced with their statement and grilled them in police style for which they confessed the crime and spilled the beans how they kidnapped and murdered.

Investigation revealed that the accused roped in seetha’s relative to take her for shopping and killed her by feeding cyanide when she asked him for a tablet for headache while travelling in a car.

Within seconds Seetha breath her last following which the accused dumped the body in a canal in Hosapete to destroy the evidence.

The victim,Seetha was residing in Rajajinagar alone and her brother Venkatesh Achar,a temple priest filed a missing conplaint.

Investigation revealed that Seetha’s husband had passed away and she was living alone.Seetha is among the four siblings having four acres of ancestral property.

The family decided to sell the property and Seetha was opposing.The accused decided kill her to grab her property.

Two more accused Mental Raghu and Kumara were also involved in the case,died due to health issue a couple of months ago.

Few more accused are involved in the murder and the accused had taken Rs.4.5 lakh cash as supari to kill Seetha and we are gathering more details about the suspects.

We suspect involvement of siblings and investigation are on to ascertain the reason behind the murder and role of the siblings in the case the investigation will be continued under inspector Sanjeev Gowda HB police inspector and his team.

A 26-Year-old biker killed on the spot after a speeding KSRTC bus crashed into his bike in Kodigehalli junction near Byatarayanapura on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Kiran K,a resident of Doddaballapura was working as a physiotherapist in a private clinic.

Senior police officer,as DCP, Traffic North,Savitha S,ACP, Ashok visited the spot and after collecting information they said,that the incident occurred around 8.45am and Kiran was going to his native and meanwhile the KSRTC bus driver tried to overtake the bike in a reckless manner and rammed into the bike.

Kiran was tossed in the air and fell down and the rear wheel of the bus ran over him and killing him on the spot.

The driver ran away leaving the bus and the passersby alerted the police. The body was shifted for postmortem and efforts are on to nab the driver senior officer said.

The West Division police of Upparpet police on Saturday arrested an notorious autorikshaw driver who along with his associates robbed lone passengers in and around Majestic area and recovered stolen property Worth Rs.7 lakh from him.

The accused has been identified as,Manoj Kumar.

Senior officer,told media persons,a complaint was filed by one of the victim who stated in his complaint that as on 8th November he hired a auto to go to Bommanahalli from Majestic and was robbed by some unknown person in an isolated place and was thrown out of auto the miscreants escaped with his gold chain he stated in his complaint.

Based on complaint filed by one of the victim who have been robbed of his valuables on Nov 8, Special team was formed by ACP,P Ravikumar,under the leadership of PI, Shivaswamy CB and his team swung into action.

Inspector and his team visited the spot and collected all the information from the crime spot and the crime team after analysing CCTV footage and other technical evidence identified the accused as Manoj Kumar and arrested him.

The upparpet police team grilled the accused who confessed the crime and revealed that he used to move around majestic area to identify the targets and offered them ride .

Once the gullible passenger board the auto,the other accused who were waiting and were keeping a watch on the auto would follow the autorickshaw and rob the passengers at knife point in an isolated place and escape .

The team grilled him who spilled the beans and based on his statement the team recovered,gold chain,2 Nikon cameras and lenses which he stole from Ramamurthynagar police station limits altogether total worth of Rs.7 lakhs valuables has been recovered from him.

We suspect that the accused are habitual offenders involved in several criminal cases and looking out for five accused who are on the run,and further investigation is on.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has requested the Centre to impose a travel ban on passengers coming from South Africa, Hong Kong and Botswana in view of the detection of the new variant of COVID-19 -‘Omicron’, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said on Sunday.

“A new strain of the COVID-19 has appeared abroad, which is mainly seen in South Africa, Hong Kong and Botswana. European nations have imposed restrictions and the WHO has also raised an alarm against this new variant by calling it a matter of concern,” Bommai told reporters here.

“We have also requested the Union government to ban travellers from the three countries (South Africa, Hongkong and Botswana),” he added.

Stating that there were no details available about the impact of the new variant, Bommai pointed out that he has learnt that it is a super spreader and hence, India is on the alert.

“India is on the alert. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had convened a meeting and given a slew of directions. Keeping that in mind, we too had convened a meeting on Saturday in the state. So far we have not come across the new strain in the state,” the Chief Minister said.

Bommai said he has ordered restrictions at the airport for people coming from countries, which are in contact with people from nations where the new Omicron variant has been detected.

“The travellers will be let go only if they test negative for the COVID-19 or else they will be sent to the containment zone. Earlier, there was a system that the travellers were allowed to go after collecting samples and then they were quarantined after testing positive,” Bommai said.

Underlining that there was high prevalence of COVID among people coming from Kerala, the Chief Minister said he has ordered precautionary measures in Dakshina Kannada, Madikeri, Chamarajanagar and Mysuru districts bordering Kerala, which will be in effect round-the-clock.

“People coming from Kerala will be let in people only after they test negative for COVID-19. They should have taken two doses of COVID-19 vaccine. This way we have given direction for round-the-clock monitoring in these districts,” the Chief Minister explained.

He also said people who came from Kerala in the last 14 days will have to undergo tests again.

Speaking about the rising cases in some clusters in Dharwad, Bengaluru and Mysuru, he said precautionary measures have been taken.

“We are conducting tests in SDM Medical College. We are conducting tests on doctors, nurses, patients and others. We have stopped the entry of outpatients,” Bommai said, referring to the outbreak of COVID among students and staff of SDM Medical College in Dharwad.

Sources in the Health department said on Sunday said that 25 more COVID infected people were detected. With this, 306 people have found COVID infected out of 3,973 people who underwent tests. The infected are said to be asymptomatic or having mild symptoms.

Stating that the government is keeping a close watch on the developments, Bommai said not only more tests are going on but also treatment to COVID infected people is given.

The Chief Minister also said that his government will seek permission for giving booster doses to the health workers.

Along with it, the government will make sure that people working in malls, public places and government offices took double doses of COVID-19, Bommai said, adding the state also plans to arrange vaccination camps in malls and government hospitals.

To a query on restrictions on new year celebrations, Bommai said no decision has been taken regarding it.

However, the government will wait for a week to take a stand on the issue after watching the COVID-19 related developments, he added.

Asked about restrictions during the MLC election campaign, the Chief Minister said though the gathering will not be huge, he has given directions to abide by COVID appropriate behaviour such as wearing masks and social distancing.

Regarding COVID-19 vaccine stock, Bommai said the state has 80 lakh vaccines.

According to him, Karnataka’s first dose coverage is 91 per cent, which is reaching saturation.

“Now we are focusing on second dose. We are aiming to achieve 70 per cent vaccination by December-end. Presently we have reached 58 per cent,” he added.

Bengaluru:The Bengaluru police have denied permission to Munawar Faruqui’s stand-up comedy show in the city on Sunday amid protest by the Hindu right wing outfits who alleged that the artist had hurt the Hindu sentiments in one of his shows.

“Yes, we have denied him permission. He will not perform any public show today,” a senior police officer told PTI on condition of anonymity.

Faruqui also shared a statement on social media confirming that his Bengaluru show that had sold “600 plus” tickets was cancelled Sunday in the wake of the “threats to venue vandalism” and said he was “done”.

“My name is Munawar Faruqui. And that’s been my time, you guys were (a) wonderful audience. Good bye, I’m done,” he said.

The proceeds from the show were supposed to be donated to late Kannada star Puneeth Rajkumar’s charitable organisation.

In the same statement, the 29-year-comic said they initially did not want to reveal that the show was for charity.

“Putting me in jail for the joke I never did to cancelling my shows which has nothing problematic in it. This is unfair. This show has gained so much love from people in India irrespective of their religion. This is unfair (sic)” he added in his Twitter statement.

Faruqui claimed that his 12 shows were called off in the last two months because of the threats to the venue and audiences.

The comedian also claimed they have a “censor certificate of the show”, which proves there was “nothing problematic” in the stand-up act.

Faruqui, however, found support in actors Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub and Swara Bhasker.

Ayyub urged the comic to not lose hope.

“And WE Failed once again as a society . looking forward to see you back on stage..” he tweeted.

Bhasker described the turn of events as “heartbreaking and shameful” and apologised to Faruqui.

“A project of hate & bigotry will always hate an articulate, rational, educated, charming, talented & funny Other’ who connects beyond identity with a heterogeneous public.. make no mistake Munawwar, Umar Khalid & other such articulate Muslims are a huge threat to Hindutva,” she wrote on the microblogging site.

“Also.. it’s heartbreaking & shameful how we as a society have allowed bullying and gaslighting to become normalised. I’m sorry Munawwar!” she said in a follow-up tweet.

According to reports, Faruqui had planned a performance ‘Dongri To Nowhere’ on Sunday evening. The show was organised in Bengaluru by Vishal Dhuria and Siddharth Das of New Delhi-based Curtain Calls Event.

However, various right wing organisations including Sriram Sena and Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, had lodged a complaint with the Bengaluru city police Commissioner against the comedian charging him of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus by allegedly insulting Hindu Gods.

The inspector of the Ashokanagar police station in the city under whose jurisdiction the Good Shepherd Auditorium falls wrote a letter to the organisers on Saturday to call off the event as the comedian is a controversial figure.

“It is learnt that Munawar Faruqui is a controversial figure….. Many states have banned his comedy shows. It is learnt that a case has been registered against him in the Tukoji police station in Indore of Madhya Pradesh,” the inspector said in his letter.

He also stated that many organisations are opposing his show, which may cause chaos, disturb peace and harmony and create a law and order problem.

“Therefore, it is suggested that you should cancel Faruqui’s stand-up comedy show,” the letter said.

Earlier this year, Faruqui was arrested by the Indore Police in a case for allegedly hurting religious sentiments and was in jail for almost a month. The comic, who has alleged heavy trolling against him on social media in the past, was released from the Indore central jail on February 7 after the Supreme Court granted him bail in the case.

Faruqui and four others were arrested on January 1 following a complaint by a BJP MLA’s son that objectionable remarks about Hindu deities and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were passed during a comedy show at a cafe in Indore on New Year’s day.

Opposition’s complaint to Governor is ridiculous

Terming opposition Congress’ complaint to Governor Tawar Chand Gehlot demanding the dismissal of the BJP government as ridiculous, Chief Minister,Basavaraj Bommai has said that, “considering Congress party’s special interest about the percentage in tenders of civil works, tenders approved during their regime too would be subjected to probe.”

Speaking to media persons after participating in the ‘Constitution Day’ celebrations in Davanagere he said, “the letter to Governor reflects the percentage culture that prevailed during the previous Congress regime towards the Contractors.

It is the Congress leaders who are the creators of percentage culture.It is Congressmen who have been increasing it(percentage) periodically.

The whispering conversation between two Congress leaders which was captured by visual media recently has blown the lid off the Congress’ percentage culture.

It is ridiculous that the same people have now lodged a complaint with the Governor.”

Referring to the reported letter written by Contractors which triggered the row,Bommai said,the letter had no details nor mentioned any specific cases.

It was a general letter.But still we have ordered a probe.Since Congress is showing keen interest in the percentage issue the tenders approved during their tenure too would be probed.”

Replying to a question as to whether Lakhan Jarkiholi would withdraw his nomination,the Chief Minister said,I have spoken to Lakhan Jarkiholi and conveyed a clear message asking him to extend full support to our official candidate.Lakhan will take a final call about it after discussing it.’

Crop Loss Compensation :

Survey to estimate the crop losses in each district is on. Paddy,Jowar crops in north Karnataka and Ragi, Paddy, vegetables in south Karnataka have suffered heavy losses.

Finance Secretary has been instructed to release the crop compensation within 24 hours of uploading the survey reports in Parihara App, Bommai said.

State would submit a memorandum to centre seeking financial assistance for flood relief after compiling a comprehensive report on the losses, Bommai added.

Referring to ongoing ACB raids on officers of various departments in the state the Chief Minister said,ACB is conducting massive raids as it has been given a free hand.The corrupt would be exposed and punished.Our intention in this regard is very clear he said in his statement.

The Bengaluru Rural Railway police have registered a murder case following a mysterious death of 64-year-old,Ayalasomay Ajula Kaaliprasad Rao,a project consultant in Hyderbad and father of Tollywood signer (harini)on the railway track between Yelahanka and Rajanukunte on Monday.

Senior officer told media persons,The body was initially noticed by a Loco pilot of Nanded express who in turn alerted the Yelahanka station master.

Based on the complaint the police rushed to the spot and noticed the injuries on forehead,cut injuries on wrist and neck .

The police also recovered a knife, blade and scissor from the spot.The police shifted the body to MS Ramaiah hospital for post-mortem and awaiting PM report for further investigation.

Initial probe revealed that the deceased had come to the city on business and checked into the star hotel on last Saturday (13/11/21 ).He booked a Uber on Monday to go out of the hotel and that was the last time he was seen.

Meanwhile Shalaini Rao Ayalasomayajula,city based Psychologist filed a complaint with the police alleging that her father has been murdered by unknown persons and dumped the body on the railway track .

Ms.Shalini said that AK Rao had come to the city on November 13 on business and stayed in a hotel.He spoke to her on November 19.She got to know about his death from her mother on tuesday when she called to inform that Yeshwanthpura railway police had called her to inform based on the mobile numbers they had obtained from the spot.

AK rao had a multiple injuries on neck,hands and plam and suspected that it could be a murder , she reiterated.

It may be recalled that AK Rao has been accused in a cheating case filed in a Sadduguntepalya police station recently.

A businessman accused him of recommending to invest Rs.2 crore in a company and got cheated .

The Karnataka Railway police have begun their investigation into the murder case of AK Rao,the father of famous Telugu singer Harini Rao,who was found dead on the railway tracks between Yelahanka and Rajanukunte in the outskirts of Bengaluru on November 22.

The Bengaluru Rural Railway police, who registered a murder case on Friday after Rao’s body was found, are investigating the matter and special police teams have been formed to probe the case he added.
