RIP Puneeth Rajkumar: Puneeth Rajkumar last rites scheduled on Sunday early morning with tight security no public will be allowed inside Kanteerva studio : CM Basavaraj Bommai

The last rites of Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be held on Sunday, October 31, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has announced. He will be accorded full state honors during the last rites. The actor will be laid to rest beside his parents Dr Rajkumar and Parvathamma Rajkumar at Kanteerava Studios.

“Performing last rites after 6pm in that small space is going to be challenging. Considering all factors and discussing with his brothers Raghavendra Rajkumar and Shivrajkumar, we have decided that the last rites will be performed tomorrow (Sunday),” said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Earlier this morning the Chief Minister and Governor Thawarchand Gehlot paid their final tributes.

The police on Saturday had made arrangements at the stadium in anticipation of a traffic jam with tens of thousands of fans still making their way to pay their final respects, with parking available at the St Joseph’s ground on Vittal Mallya Road and the YMCA ground on Nrupatunga Road.

Public can pay tribute to the late actor until Sunday morning at Kanteerava staidum where his mortal remains are at present.

The actor’s last rites will be performed on Sunday in presence of close family members and friends.

PUNEETH RAJKUMAR’S DAUGHTER ARRIVES FOR FUNERAL

Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s daughter Dhruti has arrived in Bengaluru today to attend her father’s funeral. As per reports, she landed at Bengaluru International Airport at 5 pm on Saturday. She flew in from the US, via Delhi.

Dhruti will attend her father’s cremation which is scheduled to be held on Sunday.Puneeth Rajkumar will be cremated with full state honours.

As per the latest inputs,Puneeth Rajkumar’s body will be moved in the early morning before 5am from Kanteerava Stadium to Kanteerava Studio where the final rites will take place.

The route to be followed is: Kanteerava Stadium – Corporation – Mysore Bank – Chalukya Circle – Windsor Manor – Cauvery Junctiön -Sadashivanagar Bashyam circle,Sanky Lake.Malleshwaram 18th cross,Yeshwanthpur,RMC Yard,Goraguntepalya, APMC Yard, Kanteerva studio.

Tight security arrangements has been made in and around kanteerva stadium with 6000 policemen deployed to monitor security arrangements.

Security stepped up in and around the city and patrolling stepped up at the sensitive areas .. jurisdiction police have rounded up mischief mongers.

The stadium was barricades to allow people to come from entry level to pay last respects.

Next level of security arrangements will be decided based on the family members decision on the last rites, a senior police officer said.

Over 50 platoons of reserve police force including KSRP CAR and RAF have been deployed.

Security also stepped up at the Rajkumar burial site.

Since the barricades seating arrangements and pendal was assigned to tent house, in kumbalgodu trucks carrying furniture was stuck in the traffic on mysore road due to traffic chose.

The police had to escort the trucks to kanteerva stadium. A police officer added.

Each division of the city has been assigned to a senior officer of the rank of DCP to monitor law and order.

Since yesterday over 500 persons have been detained on suspecting as they might indulge in trouble making.

1) Vehicles from Mysore Road towards Tumkur Road at the junction of Nice Road, Nayandahalli, Nagarabhavi and Sumanahalli.

2) Vehicles moving from Tumkur Road to Bangalore City, and from Tumkur Road to Mysore Road at CMTI Junction.

3) Vehicles heading towards the tomb of Prince Kumar on the Jalahalli Cross side,Near TVS Cross and Sonal Garments.

4) Vehicles heading towards the tomb of the princely state from Mahalakshmi Embassy are shifted to the Krishnananda Nagar junction.

Traffic movement in and around the stadium has been diverted to manage traffic and crowd controlling.Pls PSls convey. This diversions would be in effect from tomorrow 3AM said Kuldeep Kumar R Jain, DCP Traffic West.

Puneeth Rajkumar died on October 29 in Bengaluru following a cardiac arrest at the age of 46.

New Delhi: Paying tributes to noted Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Friday that the coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality.

Puneeth Rajkumar, 46, died in Bengaluru on Friday following a heart attack.

Modi tweeted, “A cruel twist of fate has snatched away from us a prolific and talented actor, Puneeth Rajkumar. This was no age to go. The coming generations will remember him fondly for his works and wonderful personality. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

Car driver Stabbed to death by armed gang in Bengaluru

A 43 year old car driver was stabbed to death on Hosakerehalli NICE road junction on Friday night.

The deceased has been identified as,chandrashekhar was returning home when armed gang stabbed with dagger and kater crushed him with a boulder to make sure he is dead.

The police suspect financial dispute could be the reason and efforts are on to track down the assailants.

Chandrashekhar was flower vendor who due to loss in business during lockdown took up cab driving and moved to RR nagar recently.

Passers by who noticed Chandrashekhar lying in pool of blood informed police.

The Byatarayanapura police have taken up a case and are investigating.

Dejected lover a Gym trainer committed suicide in Bengaluru !

A 29-year-old gym trainier ended his life by suicide at the house in RR Nagar on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Karthik B, a resident of Marappa Layout and was working in a private fitness centre and also running a provision store.

Senior officer told media persons,the incident took place on Saturday night and came to light on Sunday morning when his mother Jayamma found him hanging to the ceiling of his room and alerted the family.Mahesh brother of the victim called the police control room to inform about the incident.

The RR Nagar police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for postmortem.No suicide note was found and preliminary investigations revealed that Karthik was depressed with the recent breakup and sharing his feelings with his friends.This could be the reason behind his extreme step ,the police said .

Based on a complaint by Mahesh,a case of unnatural death has been registered and further investigations are on.

NIA arrests Bengaluru man,A ISIS operative who recruited Muslim youth for training in Syria

NIA officials on Saturday arrested Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood,33 from Bengaluru linked to ISIS terror outfit case.

NIA had registered a case against the accused , Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood,Zuhab Hameed@ Shakeel Manna,Irfan Nasir & Mohd Shihab for having affiliation with the banned terrorist organisations ISIS/ISIL/Daesh.

NIA had earlier arrested two accused Ahamed Abdul Cader and Irfan Nasir who were charge-sheeted on April 2021.

Investigation revealed that Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood in association with co-accused persons had raised funds,radicalized and recruited gullible Muslim youth of a Quran Circle group and illegally sent them to Syria to join ISIS.

Earlier In 2013,Muhammad Tauqir Mahmood along with his associate had also visited Syria illegally to liaise with Daesh leadership and had offered support from Indian Muslims.Further investigation in the case continues said a NIA official.

Schools reopen for class 1 to 5 students in Karnataka, adhering to COVID guidelines

Bengaluru: Schools in Karnataka re-opened for students of classes 1 to 5 from Monday, strictly adhering to COVID-19 related precautions and guidelines.

However, several private schools in the city and in different places across the state, have decided to reopen schools for these students only after Deepavali, official sources said.

Several schools had made special arrangements by decorating premises and classrooms to welcome students.

“I’m happy to come back to school. I had missed meeting friends, as I could rarely come out of home and there was no school. All these days I used to see teachers teaching on mobile or laptop, now I can see directly,” a student of class 4 said with joy.

A teacher said the schools has made all the necessary arrangements by following the SOPs issued by the government, and felt happy welcoming children back.

With COVID-19 cases declining, Karnataka government in consultation with COVID-19 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) on October 18 had decided to permit re-opening of schools for students of classes 1 to 5 from October 25, by strictly adhering to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour and SOPs issued by the Department of Primary and Secondary Education.

Parental consent letter for physical classes is mandatory.

The government has laid down certain rules such as screening for COVID-19 symptoms on entry, 50 per cent of the capacity in a classroom, provision of hand sanitizers, physical distancing of a minimum of one meter as practically feasible, no crowding, particularly at school entry and exit, and disinfecting classrooms and restrooms daily using 1 percent sodium hypochlorite solution.

Only teachers and staff who have been vaccinated with two doses of COVID-19 vaccines would be allowed in classes 1 to 5, it had said, there shall be additional use of face shield by teachers who are over 50 years of age.

Primary and Secondary Education Minister B C Nagesh recently said classes will be held for half a day during the first week and had asked parents to send children to school without any fear.

The government had reopened schools for students of classes 6 to 8 from September 6 and for students of classes 9 to 12 from August 23.

388 COVID-19 cases, 5 deaths in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Karnataka on Sunday posted 388 fresh cases and five fatalities to its COVID tally taking the caseload and mortality to 29,85,986 and 38,007.

The day also saw 586 people being discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 29,39,239. Active cases stood at 8,711, a health department bulletin said.

Bengaluru Urban accounted for the maximum number of 194 cases and four deaths, it said.

The infections in other districts was below 50 including 37 in Tumakuru, 34 in Dakshina Kannada, 25 in Hassan, 23 in Mysuru, 12 in Shivamogga and 10 in Uttara Kannada.

One death each was reported in Tumakuru.

Bagalkote, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura and Yadgir reported zero infections and zero COVID-19 related deaths.

Twenty nine districts reported zero fatalities and 15 districts reported infections in single digit, the bulletin said.

The positivity rate for the day was 0.32 per cent and the case fatality rate was 1.28 per cent.

A total of 1,17,827 samples were tested in the state on Sunday, taking the cumulative number of specimens examined so far to 5.01 crore.

The number of vaccinations done so far in the state rose to 6.33 crore, with 39,983 people being inoculated on Sunday, it said.

CCB raids pub in city for causing nuisance to public; case registered against management

Mangaluru: A pub here was raided by the City Crime Branch police on Saturday night following complaints from the public about the nuisance caused by loud music.

Police sources said the people in the neighbourhood complained that a few customers of the pub were behaving in an indecent manner with students walking on the streets.

It was alleged that the pub was open beyond the stipulated hours.

During the raid, the police seized the speakers and registered a case under the Excise Act, the Karnataka Police Act and Epidemic Act against the management of the pub.

Financier and his friend brutally murdered in outskirts of Bengaluru

A 45 year old financier and his friend were brutally murdered at an isolated place in Ballur in Attibele in the ouskirt of the city on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Deepak and his friend Bhaskar,28,a vegetable vendor.

According to the police,the Deepak accompanied by Bhaskar had gone to recover the money he lent to one his customer.

Police suspect that heated arguments which led to bloody attack.The initial probe reveal that the duo has resisted the attack.But the assailant overpowered them and crush their head with boulder killing them on the spot.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and conducted a detailed probe.

We have some clue on the accused and will be arrested soon, a senior police officer , said.

36-Year-old woman died under mysterious circumstances while returning home after getting vaccinated !

A 36 year old woman died under mysterious circumstances while returning home after getting vaccination in kamakshipalya on Friday.

The deceased has been Identified as,Mangala, wife of Dinesh and resident of Laxman Nagar, Kamakshipalaya.

According to the police,Mangala had received vaccine at Hegganhalli govt hospital at around 11.20am.While returning home she suddenly collapsed in market near her residence and was immediately shifted to hospital where in she was declared brought dead.

The Rajagopalnagar police have taken up a case of un natural death and awaiting for the post mortem report ro ascertain the exact cause of death.
