Inter-state drug peddler arrested by Magadi road police recovered 1.84 KG of Opium drugs

The West Division police of Magadi road police on Sunday arrested a 31-year-old man from Rajasthan and recovered 1.84 kgs of opium from him.

The accused has been identified as,Sukhdev,31,a resident of Pali district in Rajasthan.

Senior officer told reporters,to curb the drug menace across the city we have formed special squad from each police station to keep a Vigil watch on drug peddlers and consumers in the area.

The Magadi Road police inspector,GT Sreenivas received a credible information from their reliable inputs who shared the details of peddlers with his contact number.

After getting the information the inspector formed a decoy to contact the person and get the drug substances.

Our crime staff turned as decoy contacted the Peddler on his mobile number and asked to deliver the opium drugs the Peddler made our team to come to Majestic,and in srirampuram area to deliver the drugs but the peddler dint turned up.

It is a month long operation in which the accused was nabbed.our team kept a close watch on the peddler and used to visit the spots wherever he asked to deliver the Affim drugs.But the peddler never turned up.

One fine day our crime staff called him and said it was urgent to deliver the opium drugs and he ordered 1.84 kg of opium to him and said it is emergency and asked him to deliver in Magadi road near a reputed college.

As soon as the peddler came to deliver the opium drugs our team caught him red handed when a police posing as customer approached him to confirm the Narcotics near a college on Magadi road.

As the peddler reached near a reputed college our team who were kept a close watch on him and his movements and after getting confirmation that he is peddling drugs our team of cops surrounded him and secured him to investigate further.

A detailed investigation by the team it has been revealed that the accused used to sell opium drugs in gel form and in liquid form to him.

The police recovered 648 grams in gel form and 436 grams in Liquid form.

When our team asked the source from where he is procuring drugs he told the police that opium available in abundance at his home town and he would bring it to the city by train to sell it considering its high demand.

The accused said that he smuggled the opium concealed in mixer grinder jar and after landing in city he stayed with his friend in his room in chickpet area to supply the contraband drugs to his clients.

Initial probe revealed that the accused used to visit Bengaluru oftenly and was working as salesman in cloth and utensils shop.

But he left the job and in chickpet earlier and started peddling drugs considering its demand and huge profit margin a case under NDPS Act has booked and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil ACP, Nanjundegowda,PI,GT Sreenivas,and his crime staff as,Ravikumar,Krishnamurthy,Naveen,and others who has done a tremendous job in nabbing the inter-state drug peddler after a month long operation finally the peddler who started pedlding drugs has been nabbed by special Anti-Narcotics squad and are in police net and for the exemplary work done by the team a suitable reward will be given to them he added.

10 convicts on parole missing

The city police have stepped up into and a started vigil investigations to trace as many as 10 convicts who went out on parole from Central prison of Parappana Agrahara were missing.

Senior officer said,They are among the 22 convicts who jumped parole conditions and are on the run from across the state prisons since 2004 to till date.These convicts serving life terms are entitled to get 90 days of parole every year.

The prison department,considering their behaviour and track record,granted them parole . Since the year 2004 as many as 90 convicts from parappana Agarahara prison had escaped, out of which 80 arrested and brought back to the prison, while the remaining ten of them are still elusive .

The prison department has filed FIRs at the  jurisdictional police stations against the convicts and reviews the progress of the investigations every two months he added.

Two Inter-State Drug peddlers, including B-Tech graduate arrested by Sudduguntepalya police,4Kg Hashish Oil Worth Rs.2 Crore Recovered.

The Southeast Division police of Sudduguntepalya police on Saturday busted another inter-state drug racket and arrested two persons including a B tech graduate for peddling Hashish oil in the city.The police also recovered four kilograms of Hashish oil worth Rs 2 crore from them.

The accused has been identified as,Mohammed Irfan,native of Kozhikode and resident of Hulimavu,and his associate Thari Azeem,25, resident of Hulimavu from Malappuram.

Additional Commissioner of Police,East,S Murugan,told reporters,as we have set up a squads in every stations as Anti-Narcotics squad to curb the drug abuse in the city.

Based on which the Sudduguntepalya police stations special Anti-Narcotics squad along with Inspector Nataraj DN were on patrolling in the area and while on patrolling they found one person who was under influence of drugs.

The team secured him and took the police station for further questioning to know the source of drugs the team stepped into investigation and grilled the drug consumer in their own style who spilled the beans and told that he has procured drugs from Mohammed Irfan.

Based on his information,a team led by Inspector Nataraj DN,raided the house of Irfan and recovered Hashish Oil from his house.

The team took him to station for questioning a detailed investigation by the team during investigation he confessed the crime and a detailed investigation by the team led to the arrest of his associate Thari Azeem after arresting both the accused the team recovered 4 kilograms of Hashish Oil worth Rs.2 Crore from them.

A detailed investigation by the team it was revealed that Mohammed Irfan was working as a freelancer after his graduation till lockdown was announced.Being a drug addict and also due to unemployment he started peddling drugs.He ganged up with his associate Thari Azeem,25, from Malappuram,a college drop out to peddle drugs.

When the team grilled both the accused to know the source the duo said they managed to buy drugs in bulk from their contacts in Vizag and smuggle into the city from different means and sell it to their customers who are college students and IT professionals.

A special team are now trying to track down their contact in Vizag who has supplied the Narcotics to the accused a case under NDPS Act has been registered against the accused and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP,Southeast,Dr.Srinath Mahadev Joshi,ACP, Mico-layout,Sub-Division, Karibasavanagowda,PI,Nataraj DN,PSI,Bheemappa M Rabakavi,ASI,Raghavendra and crime staffs, as,Veerbhadrappa,Jaikumar,Siddaraju,Errana, Rudresh,and Venu has been appreciated who has arrested inter-state drug peddler and busted the racket a suitable reward will be given to the whole team for their exemplary work he added.

Finance Company owner booked for cheating MBA graduates promising jobs

The Amruthahalli police are on the lookout for the owner of a finance company who cheated as many as 100 MBA graduates promising jobs .

Hemanth C,a 23-year-old MBA graduate is among the 60 students who have complained to the police so far .

In his complaint Hemanth said that the accused Jayaverma Rahul,office in charge of the Nateja company situated on the 10th floor of the RMZ Lattitude on Bellary road,offered to get him an accountant job in April this year.

After formal talks at the office,On 23rd April, Rahul told him to enrol for a crash course at WTC centre in Yeshwanthpura by paying Rs.12,000 towards the fee.Rahul also assured that after successful completion of the course,he would reimburse the fee along with the first month salary.

Excited with the officer,Hemanth enrolled into the refresh course and also attended online classes.After completion of the course, Hemanth realized that none of the students including his previous batch students have not been offered job not communicated.

worried Hemanth went to the office and found that the office was vacated and Rahul was missing.

Based on the complaint the Amruthahalli police have registered a complaint and till now they have received around 60 complaints so far and suspected that around 100 have been duped.We  have some clues on Rahul and are trying to track him down said senior officer.

African National arrested by KR Puram police for attacking patrolling police on duty over trivial row

The KR Puram police on Friday arrested a 36-year-old Ghana national who was on the run after attacking patrolling police over a trivial row  at Margondanahalli in June last week .

The accused has been identified as,Asiedu Morgan,hails from Ghana and residing in Banasawadi,was arrested from his friend’s place in Noida sector 3 where he had taken shelter .

Senior officer told media persons,Morgan along with his four friends was caught creating a ruckus in the middle of the road on the night of June 23.

Few residents alerted KR Puram police and a team of patrolling police on Cheetah motorcycle  reached the spot and asked them to leave after a warning.

Agitated by this Morgan had a heated argument with the cops who took an ugly turn when drove his car recklessly and hit their bike.The patrolling police jumped to escape but Morgan escaped.

After the Incident a complaint was registered in KR Puram police station and massive hunt was on to nab the culprit who was on the run after assaulting on duty officer over a trivial row.

A special team was formed and pressed into action the team visited the crime spot and during investigation the team identified the identity of the accused and started tracking him.

The team who were pressed into action received a credible information about the accused that he has taken shelter in Noida Sector immediately PSI,Subramani and his team rushed to Noida Sector 3 and after getting a confirmation the team raided his friends house in the Delhi Noida sector 3 and found the accused there.

The team secured and brought him to Bengaluru for future investigation we have recovered the documents and are verifying his background and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East,S Murugan, DCP Whitefield,D Devaraj,PI,Ambrish,PSI, Subramani,and his crime staff who has done a exemplary and good piece of investigation to nab the absconding accused who was on the run and further investigation is on and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.

GST compensation: Centre releases Rs 8,542 crore to Karnataka

BENGALURU: The Union Finance Ministry on Thursday said it had released Rs 75,000 crore to states under the ‘back-to-back loan facility’ in lieu of GST compensation. The loan facility is expected to compensate for losses in GST collections due to revenue shortages arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on the economy. 

Karnataka has received Rs 8,542.17 crore as first instalment. The funds released on Thursday is in addition to regular GST compensation being released every two months out of actual cess collection to states. As per the decision taken in the 43rd GST Council meeting held in May, the Union Government will borrow Rs 1.59 lakh crore and release it to states and UTs with legislature on a back-to-back basis. 

The same principles that were applied to similar loans last fiscal year will be applied this year as well. The first installment is nearly 50 per cent of the total shortfall of compensation for the year. “The balance amount will be released in the second half of 2021-22 in steady instalments,” a statement from the Finance Ministry said. Karnataka has been assured of Rs 18,000 crore this fiscal year as part of back-to-back loans apart from the regular compensation from actual cess collection.

Yediyurappa heads for Delhi on Saturday

BENGALURU: Amid on-and-off talk on the leadership issue in the state, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa’s proposed trip to Delhi on Saturday has raised eyebrows.

Yediyurappa, who is expected to be in New Delhi on Saturday, may take up the issue of the contentious Mekedatu and Upper Bhadra projects with the PM, along with the possible induction of MLA N Munirathna into the cabinet, the sources said.

The other issue likely to be discussed is the completion of two years in government, after the 14-month-old Congress-JDS coalition government, led by H D Kumaraswamy, collapsed. In Delhi, the CM is also expected to meet BJP national president J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He is expected to return Bengaluru on Sunday.

A notorious rowdy from Bengaluru south who is under the radar of the police and on the run surrendered before the 31st Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court on Wednesday.

Senior officer told media persons,The accused Raghavendra alias Bakery Raghu aged around 36 years gave a slip to police and was absconding when a massive crackdown took place on rowdy-sheeters houses by the Bengaluru city police across city in a single day 8 Division DCPs and their team conducted a surprise raid.

Raghu is a Rowdy sheeter in Hanumanthangar police station and is a close associate of Cycle Ravi was on the run since a gang belonging to his arch rival Kulla Rizwan attacked him near Gunasheela hospital in April this year when he had come to see his new born child.

Raghu managed to escape and was on the run.  While on one hand the south division police have intensified crackdown operations on the rowdy element and on the other hand rival gangs are given supari to eliminate him,Raghu had not option but to surrender.

He was wanted in 8 year old case of Byatarayanapura.Case was of attempt to dacoity.

Surprise check by CCB on Foreigners,65 house raided,38 foreigners booked without valid documents, including 4 drug peddlers arrested,90 Ecstasy pills and 25 grams Marijuana Seized,

A Major crackdown as Surprise checks conducted by Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials on 65 houses on Thursday in the area as, Banaswadi,Hennur,KG Halli,Govindapura, Ramamurthynagar,DJ Halli, Yelahanka and other areas.

Senior officer told media persons,A team consisting of six assistant commissioners of police (ACPs),20 police inspectors (PIs),100 head constables and police constables conducted the search from the early hours till afternoon.

During the raid four were arrested two cases were booked under the NDPS Act after the CCB officials recovered 90 ecstasy pills and 25 grams of marijuana from two Nigerian nationals.Twenty have been arrested under the Foreigners Act,

It was found that most of the foreign nationals among the 38 are from African countries.A few among them don’t have passports and visa,while a few others foreign nationals’ visa has got expired,officials said,adding that they have come to India on tourist,business and student visas.

The police are questioning all 38 persons about their purpose of stay,and if they have applied for renewal of visa and their present activities in the city will be verified and If they fail to produce required documents they will be arrested under Foreigners Act.

The search was conducted because the accused persons caught in drug peddling cases did not produce the valid documents for their stay in Bengaluru.

However,many of the foreigners told the police on thursday that Panic gripped among the African nationals during the police raid and search operations.

Many of them said that they were with expired travel document is not deliberately or with malicious intentions,but due to the pandemic, because of which they could not update situation as the reason for not updating their travel documents.

Some of them said that they could not go back as the flights have been cancelled while others cited higher air fares.

The police could have issued us a notice to question us.Carrying out such search operations publicly puts us in bad light,some of the foreigners said African members added.

Cases registered so far in morning raids,38 people found without valid documents.2 NDPS cases,4 accused drug peddlers arrested and 4 Foreigners act cases,20 accused booked for over staying without any valid documents he added.

Commissioner of police Kamal Pant said by tweeting,A special drive was conducted this morning against overstaying foreign nationals by the @CCBangalore.

Over 60 houses were checked and 38 foreigners were found to be staying without a valid passport & visa.The team also found narcotic substances (90 ecstacy pills & cannabis) during the searches.

A case has been registered under the Foreigners Act and NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway he tweeted.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Joint CP Crime,Sandeep Patil,DCP Crime-1 KP Ravikumar,Crime-2 BS Angadi,and his team as ACPs,PIs,and around 100 head constable and constables who were part of this massive crackdown on Foreigners who are staying illegally and are involved in illegal activities and for the exemplary work done by them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.

Armed gang chopped RTI activist leg in broad daylight in Tavarekere

A 50-year old RTI activist attacked by bike borne miscreants gang who were armed with lethal weapons when a RTI activist was walking near his farm attack took place near Tavarekere police station.

Armed gang attacked a 50-year-old RTI activist and chopped off his right leg near his farm in Taverekere Ramanagar on Thursday.

Senior officer told media persons,The incident occurred at around 11.30 am when Venkatesh was walking near his farm. The assailant came in bikes and attacked him with lethal weapons,as a result his right leg severed and he sustained deep cut injuries on his right hand when he tried to resist the attack. 

The assailant sped away leaving Venkatesh in a pool of blood  before passers-by rushed to his help.Venkatesh was rushed to a near-by hospital where he is being treated at the ICU.

Doctors said that Venkatesh is said to be out of danger.Doctors have subjected him for surgery.Venkatesh was very actively filing RTI’s in all the government projects and had filed many cases related to corruption.Many projects have been stopped because of his complaints.

It is suspected that the attack was an act of taking revenge against him.We have taken up the case of attempt to murder and are investigating the case in all possible angle.We have also got clues about attackers and are making efforts to nab them, said an investigating officer.

Three special teams has been formed by SP Ramanagar,Girish S, to nab the assailants and we will nab them soon as we have got clues about the attackers he added.
