College reopening | SIBM Bengaluru

February 20, 2021 by Nasheman

Bengaluru, 19th February 2021: SIBM Bengaluru reopens its campus and welcomes students back after 11 months.

As establishments across the country recuperate from the ill-effects of the ongoing pandemic, business schools are also taking the cautious decision of opening up campuses and calling back the students. For a holistic educational experience, campus-based learnings are crucial, and thus Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Bengaluru has also reopened its gates for students who are willing to come back to the campus on a voluntary basis.

The institute took the decision to extend the academic calendar for both its batches to ensure there’s no compromise with the education quality and standard. Keeping in mind the health and safety of the students, teachers, and staff members, the college was patient and calculated in its decision about the right time to call the students back to Bengaluru. Students are being called in a phased manner, with the first batch having arrived on the 15th of February.

Following safety measures are being taken at the campus:

  1. Mandatory RT-PCR negative test report (test having to be undertaken 48 hours before entering the campus), to be carried by the student.
  2. Compulsory 14-day quarantine, in a single occupancy room.
  3. Doctor available on campus 24×7.
  4. Medical insurance of up to Rs 50,000 in case a student contracts Covid-19.

Randeep Surjewala meets CM Ibrahim, hopes to stall defection to JDS

February 19, 2021 by Nasheman

BENGALURU: In a bid to retain MLC CM Ibrahim in the Congress fold, the party’s General Secretary and state in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala personally went to meet the senior leader after consulting Opposition leader Siddaramaiah and KPCC President D K Shivakumar. Last month, Ibrahim met JDS supremo H D Deve Gowda along with former CM H D Kumaraswamy, invoking the displeasure of Congress leaders. Kumaraswamy had visited Ibrahim, after which the two had visited Gowda.

Ibrahim is a Congress MLC, and there was talk that he would switch sides and be made JDS working president. JDS was also interested in getting back Ibrahim, who had served as Civil Aviation minister in 1996. It is no secret that the JDS got a negligible number of Muslim votes, and their effort to rope in Ibrahim is to try and regain votes in certain pockets where the party lost. It is an open secret that Ibrahim was sending signals about his unhappiness with Congress leadership. He used to be seen with Siddaramaiah regularly, but this was not the case in the past few months.

Ibrahim reportedly told Surjewala, “I have nothing against anyone but I have issues against certain processes, which need to be addressed.’’ Surjewala assured him he would convey his concerns to the high command. The Congress, too, is not ready to take any community’s support for granted, and is especially cautious about the minority issue in the backdrop of Youth Congress president aspirant Mohammed Nalapad’s disqualification after the election, and talk of certain leaders’ malafide intentions.

Minority votes are not the monopoly of the Congress, which is wary of the SDPI  and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen threat. This new belligerence on the part of the JDS by trying to rope in a strong Muslim leader may not be to Congress’ advantage.

Former CM H D Kumaraswamy demands transparency in Sangh Parivar's Ram temple fund collection drive

Bengaluru: Days after alleging RSS was marking houses of those who did not donate for Ram Temple in Ayodhya, former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said he was not opposed to the construction of the shrine, but only wanted more transparency in the fund mobilisation.

The government has a responsibility to check who was collecting funds for the Ram Temple, he told a press conference here.

“I am neither opposed to the Ram Temple nor did I speak ill of any organisation or the collection of funds for Ram Temple. Even my party members have given money, but I want to know who has authorised those collecting money door-to-door? What’s their background? Who gave them licences,” he said.

He said his objection was only to collection of funds for the temple construction without transparency and “loot and misuse” of funds in the name of Ram.

Kumarswamy had on Monday accused the RSS of marking houses of those who gave donations for Ram Temple in Ayodhya and those who did not and alleged it was similar to what the Nazis did in Germany.

The RSS dismissed the allegations, saying they do not qualify for any response while the state unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which is among the organisations collecting funds for the temple, condemned Kumaraswamy for the charges.

The JDS leader said the donations could be done through online transactions.

“We have opened so many Jan Dhan accounts, then why cannot we collect money online? Why collect on the street and mark the houses?” the JD(S) leader asked.

He further alleged no one gave any account of the money collected in 1990 for the Ram Temple from across the country.

Kumaraswamy said he came from a family which has faith in God, but never misused the name of God.

“We have commitment to the 130 crore people but we dont believe in breaking the society,” the former Chief Minister said.

The VHP Organising Secretary in Karnataka Basavaraj on Tuesday condemned Kumaraswamy’s earlier statement against RSS.

“It happens to be a highly irresponsible tweet coming in from former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sri Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpana Abhiyan,” (fund mobilisation), Basavaraj said in a statement.

Volunteers of various organisations, including the VHP, were reaching out to all sections of society. The latter were responding positively and contributing towards the construction of the grand temple at Ayodhya, he added.

They did not even demand money from people and the outreach was merely to enable the whole country take part in the effort as “everyone believes strongly that Lord Ram is the identity of Bharat,” he added.

“VHP takes serious note of baseless allegations made by an individual who held the highest office of the state. The VHP also condemns Kumaraswamy’s statement for making unwarranted remarks on the patriotic organization RSS,” Basavaraj said.

The fund collection drive for the Ram Temple started from January 14 on the occasion of Makar Sankranti and will go on till February 27.

Female Foeticide

February 17, 2021 by Nasheman

    Chaitanya SV

I am here to say a few words on the subject of Girl Child’s importance and how we can save them. Since years we know through our culture and ancient history that the importance of women is documented and accepted always, but on the practical ground, we should be more serious. They are equally responsible for the existence of humankind on earth. They are accountable responsible for the progress and development of any country or any country. Therefore, we must take steps to protect the human population from extinction and protect women.
It is a common practice in India, where people abort or kill girls at birth. But, they should be given equal opportunities and given the honor and opportunity to move forward in life. However, the fate of civilization is in his hands as the core of my creation.Although girls are ahead of boys in many areas, people still prefer boys. There is evidence that girls perform better in every field and career field than boys these days because of their dedication and hard work.
Many have also gone to outer space because of their intelligence and capability. They are more talented, reliable, hardworking, and responsible for the family and their lives. Besides, girls tend to be more caring and affectionate towards their parents. Above all, they give 100% to every task.

Measures are taken by the Government:
India to protect girls. The government has taken several initiatives to protect the girls and launched several campaigns to protect them. Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, is a recently launched initiative by the government, which actively encourages people to protect girls. Also, many NGOs, companies, corporate groups, and human rights commissions have launched several campaigns to protect girls. However, the government has taken the matter seriously, and, to prevent female fetuses, they have banned sex-determination ultrasound, amniocentesis, and scan tests in hospitals and laboratories.

Conclusion :
Girls should be protected because they are less able or capable than boys. They can act like boys and take responsibility for their family and country. All of today’s girls are tomorrow’s mothers. If we respect and care for them today and treat them appropriately, they will appreciate and respect us tomorrow.

21-year-old activist arrested in Bengaluru for sharing Greta Thunberg’s ‘toolkit’

February 15, 2021 by Nasheman

Bengaluru: A 21-year-old climate activist has been arrested from Bengaluru for being allegedly involved in sharing the “toolkit” related to the farmer’s protest on social media, police said on Sunday.

Disha Ravi was arrested by a Cyber Cell team of the Delhi Police from Bengaluru on Saturday, a senior police officer said.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had asked Google and some social media giants to provide information about email id, URLs and certain social media accounts related to the creators of the “toolkit” shared by teen climate activist Greta Thunberg and others on Twitter in connection with the farmers’ protest.

The Cyber Cell had lodged an FIR against “pro-Khalistan” creators of the “toolkit” for waging a “social, cultural and economic war against the Government of India”.

The case against unnamed persons was registered on charges of criminal conspiracy, sedition and various other sections of the Indian Penal Code, the police said.

Addressing a press conference earlier, a senior Delhi Police officer said initial investigation linked the document with a pro-Khalistan group named “Poetic Justice Foundation”.

According to the police, the “toolkit” has a particular section that mentions “digital strike through hashtags on or before January 26, tweet storms on January 23 onwards, physical action on January 26 and watch-out or join farmers march into Delhi and back to borders”.

The “toolkit” was aimed at spreading disaffection and ill-will against the government of India and creating disharmony among various social, religious and cultural groups, the police had added.
