Realtor arrested by West Division police for selling Air Force canteen liquor illegally,85 Litres liquor stored illegally at house seized

The West division police,on Thursday,raided a house belonging to a realtor and recovered 114 liquor bottles which he had allegedly procured from the Air Force canteen through his source and was selling it to his clients.

The accused has been identified as Mani,61,resident of West of Chord road by profession he is a realtor.

Senior officer said,Based on a tip off a team of Basaveshwaranagar and Magadi road police raided the house and during search the team found liquor bottles stored illegally in his possession the team found BLACK & WHITE-26 bottles,100 piper’s-55 bottles,Peter Scot-15 bottles,Blender Prides-13 bottles,MC Roys-05 bottles altogether 114 bottels,All are 750 ML size.Totally 85 liters of liquor of different brands seized from his possession.

During interrogation Mani told the police that he was sourcing the liquor from his contact from the Air Force canteen Mekhri circle at subsidised rates and was selling it to his clients at regular,or sometimes higher rates,depending upon the situation.

According to the excise officials,only three liters of liquor is permitted to be stored in house,but Mani stored 85 liters without required bills he added.

With the count down for December 31 is nearing, the city traffic police geared up to ensure that peaceful event.A six hours vehicular movement banned in and around MG road from 8pm to 2 am .

BR Ravikanthe Gowda, joint commissioner of Police, traffic,said that as many as 191 nakabandi check point has been set up at the strategic locations across the city to check traffic violations especially drunk and drive incidents.

According to him equal number of pick up squads have been formed which are stationed at the nakabandi spot to handle drink drivers and subject them to medical examination.

Mr. Gowda,warned motorists not to drunk and drive failing which their DL,vehicles will be seized apart from slapping hefty fine and booking them under various sections of IMV act and also under IPC,he said.

The traffic police held a meeting with the managements of pubs bars and restaurants issuing them directions.

The management should identify the drivers who were drinking and should offer alternative arrangements like providing drivers or booking them cabs.

Since the CBD area including MG road, Brigade  road,church Street,Indiranagar 100 feet road and part of Koramangala are turned into no man’s zone, people who are visiting these areas for dining purposes should have booking coupons with them.

The traffic police along with their law and order counterparts will intensify patrolling around the city to keep an eye on the revellers on the road.

While flyovers across the city has been shut down,patrolling also intensifies on NICE road and ring roads.He even said we will close the elevated flyover connecting to International Airport.

There will be prohibitory for traffic from 8pm to 6am in CBD areas like MG Road, Church Street, Brigade road,as it will be turned into No Man’s Zone area.

All the 44 traffic police station will be on high vigil and we have identified more than 619 picket points across city for checking drink and drive and squads have been formed to check on wheelie and drag racing .

We will close NICE road by barricading the area and elaborate tight security will be in place traffic police and law and order police will work together for the safety of citizens.

19-Year-Old Labourer crushed to death in lift accident in Chandra layout

A 19 year old labourer was killed in freak accident while he was shifting copper wire in a lift at the factory in chandra layout on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as,Indrajith kumar,19,from Bihar was working as helper in Manan products,an copper wire manufacturing unit situated in Aziz sait industrial area in Gangondanahalli.

Around 8.30 am Indrajith along with his colleague Nitesh kumar were shifting wire bobbins from ground floor to first floor in  lift.

While coming down the lift due to technical snag plunge to 8 feet.Due to this Indrajith lost balance, slipped from the lift and crashed on the iron gate of the ground floor.

He sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a near by hospital from there to RR hospital,Athriyam hospital,Victoria hospital before he was taken to KIMS where the doctors declared him as died on the way.

Based on the complainy filed by Niraj Kumar, brother of Indrajith,the police have registered a case against owner,Rakesh Gupta and Babu Supervisor charging them under death due to negligence. Chandra layout police are further investigating the case to ascertain the reason behind the incident .

New coronavirus strain:First sealdown of apartments in Bengaluru after three of family test positive for second wave of UK Corona virus :

First multi-storey apartments in vasanthpura and in JP Nagar has been seal down by BBMP after a family returned from UK found positive for the New coronavirus strain in Bengaluru.

The residents in Vasanthapura bommanahalli protested after bbmp and police landed at the apartment complex along with ambulance to take them for quarentine after a family of three from UK returned and tested covid positive on December 18.

The BBMP quarantined the family while the residents subjected to tests few days ago as secondary and primary contacts.

However on tuesday the bbmp team along with police returned asking the residents to go along with them for institutional quarantine facility at a hotel.The residents refused stating that they have tested negative and the move is to harass them.

They demanded the authority to seal down the apartment and assures to cooperate following which the officials seal down the apartment and blocked the entry and exit of roads leading to the apartment.

Last week all residents tested and negative  Morning bbmp officials along with police came to take the residents for Quarantine.Residents alleged harassment and protested that they be home quarentine.

How can we stay in hotel who will take care of our expenses and treatment, questioned the residents.Budging to their demands the bbmp,seal down the apartment for 28 days.

There are small kids and aged parents at the apartment who will take care of them and if anything happen who will take responsibility, another residents demanded.

We have not seen the family which had come from UK.They are already taken away by bbmp and quarantined.

The police have been deployed to monitor the residents.We are just carrying the government. Order and no intention to harass anyone,a senior official of the bbmp health department said.

Dr GK Suresh,Deputy Health Officer, Bommanahalli zone,who was at the apartment said,Since the apartment dwellers did not agree to be shifted out,we have sealed down the apartment.As many as 37 people are residing in 12 houses here.We will be placing barricades here.They will all be secondary contacts as they’ve all used the same lift and staircases.All their samples have been taken and have been sent to the lab for RTPCR tests he said.

Dr Vijayendra BK,Chief Health Officer,Public Health,BBMP,said,Primary contacts of Covid positive UK returnees have been asked to be shifted to institutional quarantine,that is,hotels, by the government.Till last night, there were 45 primary contacts of 16 Covid patients from UK in the city.Previously,they were in home quarantine.

The medical officer finally relented and said they’ll be kept in home quarantine itself.Two policemen will be stationed there and everyday disinfection of the apartment premises will be done.

Dr.Sudhakar,Health and Medical Education Minister told media persons that,Measures to trace contacts of 3 infected,Of the 2,406 people who came to Karnataka between December 1 – December 21,the state government has been struggling to locate nearly 570 of them who have gone missing.

We have sought the assistance of the state Home ministry and police officials to trace these 570 people who have switched off their phones and remain untraceable.Of the 1,614 passengers who came to Bengaluru,26 had tested positive for Covid-19 and of them, three have tested positive for the new UK strain of the virus.

Finally he said,Also unlike the 14 day quarantine period, which included seven days at the hospital and seven days at home, those having a new strain will be isolated for a period of 28 days at a hospital or quarantine centre where they will be monitored and treated, the minister added. Fellow passengers of those carrying the new strain have been identified and are being tested,Of the 570 missing passengers, 204 have given addresses in Bengaluru.

3 out of 26 people whose sample have been tested in NIMHANS were found positive for new variant of Corona virus.They have been admitted in the hospitals and measures are on to trace the contacts of these three people said Dr.Sudhakar

ICMR has been collecting the information of Covid positive persons who were returned from United Kingdom.This is uniform and centralised system and there is no confusion in it.There is no need for panic as much of the returnees are tested negative.We are tracing out the people who have switched off their mobile phones said, the Minister.

Instant Loan App Racket busted by CCB,Trio-held  over Harrassment on instant loan app, Laptop’s Mobile seized.

The CCB officials on Monday arrested three persons who are part of the loan app racket run by Chinese companies.

The police raided the firms situated in Koramangala and seized the equipments including 35 laptops,200 mobile phones and other equipments used by the accused.

The accused has been identified as,Syed Ahmed, 33,from Shamanna garden,Syed Irfan,26 from BTM 2nd stage and Aditya Senapathy of Ramagondanahalli were appointed as directors of the companies owned by Chinese nationals.

The accused run the business using Chinese mobile Apps including moneyday,paisa way and inchash apps offering instant loan and charges exhorbitant interest.

The accused also hires few BPO companies to manage the loan disbursement and repayment process.

The accused would threaten and blackmail customers if they fail to pay EMI online and do not have required permission from the competent authority to run financial activities.

Sandeep Patil,Joint commissioner of police crime,said,Based on a complaint filed by three customers the CCB filed separate cases and raided Ace pearl service private limited, situated at 7th block Koramangala and arrested the accused.

Based on their information the CCB police team  also raided Higeki service private limited,exceedwell service private limited,MascotStar service private limited and Aqua Steller private limited,which are operating mobile loan app services.

During investigation it is revealed that there are two Chinese nationals involved in the case.The team investigating the case have information about them and will be arrested soon, he added.

It may be recalled that the cyber crime CID officials busted similar racket few days ago.

24-year-old youth murdered, roommate held by Vijayanagar police

A 24-year old youth was stabbed to death by his room mate over a financial row at the house in Pattegarpalya in Vijayanagar on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Irfan, resident of Rajiv Gandhi nagar and working in a junk shop.

The accused has been identified as, Naveen aged about 25 years old, has been arrested while he was trying to flee.

According to the police,Naveen and Irfan had a heated argument over financial row,which took an ugly turn.In the melee Naveen picked up a knife and stabbed Irfan repeatedly.Neighbours rushed the profusely bleeding irfan to a near by hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West),Dr.Sanjeev M Patil told reporters,Last night one murder was reported at Vijayanagar Police Station limits.Irfan (24) was killed by his roommate Naveen over a monetary dispute.The accused Naveen was arrested late last night.
As per police investigation, a dispute over money was regarding the sale of a mobile phone,he added.

The Vijayanagar police are investigating the case to ascertain the exact reason behind the murder.

Bengaluru: Traffic Restrictions for New Year Revelry in CBD area, All Flyovers to Remain Shut Post 10 pm

The Bengaluru City traffic police have restricted the vehicles movement in and around MG Road from 8pm on December 31 till 2 am on January 1 as part of no man’s zone plan under prohibitory orders imposed to ensure strict implementation on covid guidelines .

Except vehicles of essential services and emergency services,vehicles movement has been restricted on MG road,Brigade road,church Street, museum road,rest house park road,residency road.

The restrictions has been imposed as there is a possibility of crowd gathering on CBD areas despite prohibitory orders and motorists going on joy ride,Kamal Pant, city Police commissioner, said.

Flyovers across the city have been shut down from 10 pm of December 31 to 6 am of January 1.There will be Vigil check on all flyovers and other areas and drink and drive checking will be done till 2am in all major junctions.

Heavy police deployment has been made to ensure traffic restrictions.Parking of vehicles have also been banned on CBD area and also on Indiranagar 100 ft.road.

Vehicles coming from queens road towards MG road during this time should take left turn at Anil Kumble circle to proceed on central Street,BRV junction,right turn to enter Cubbon road to reach   Webb’s junction on MG road.

Vehicle coming from Trinity junction towards MG road should take right turn at webb’s junction to reach manipal centre and left turn to proceed on Cubbon road.

Vehicles coming from cash pharmacy junction towards Halasuru and Hosur road should move on Museum road,SBI junction,St marks road,Anil Kumble circle,BRV junction to reach Cubbon road and proceed further.

Four Notorious Drug peddlers arrested by Sudduguntepalya police,214 kg Ganja,600 grams Opium drugs worth Rs.73 Lakhs Recovered:

The Southeast Division Police of Sudduguntepalya police have busted drug racket ahead of new year celebration, and arrested four notorious peddlers and recovered 214 kgs of Ganja worth RS.65 lakh from them and 600 grams of Opium Synthetic drugs worth Rs.8 lakhs.

The accused,K Preethipal,alias,Preethipal Rai@Prithvi@Vinay@Gautham shetty,48 from Bantwal and his associate Khalander,31,were caught while they were waiting for their clients near Hosur road.

DCP, Southeast,Srinath Mahadev Joshi,told media persons,that continuing our drive against drug peddlers based on instructions by commissioner of police and other senior officers to form a special team to nab drug peddlers.

Based on credible information,PI, Sudduguntepalya,KL Ramesh and his team under the leadership of ACP, Mico-layout Sub-division, Sudheer M Hegde,a special team received a credible information that some two persons are waiting for their clients in a Swaraj Mazda car near Munnichinappa kalyana mantap on Bannerghatta road.

Acting on the tip off inspector and team rushed to spot and apprehended duo while they were trying to sell the drugs to their clients.

They detained them and during interrogation they confessed the crime and recovered 214 kg of Ganja from their possession worth of Rs.65 lakhs from them.

Preethipal told the officials that he was sourcing  the drugs from Rajamundrai in AP and transporting the drugs in goods vehicles concealed under commodities.

Preethipal is habitual offender in Goa,Kerala and Mangaluru in similar offences.He was arrested by Kerala police but got out on bail and came to Bengaluru and continued peddling drugs.

In another incident,the police inspector and his team arrested two persons from Uttar Pradesh and recovered 600 grams of Opium worth Rs.8 lakh from him.

The accused Amith Kumar, 31 and his associate Sooraj,33,were residing in Indira nagar and sourcing drugs from Himachal Pradesh.

The accused were caught red handed while trying to sell the drugs near Christ college on Hosur road.

A case has been registered against all the accused under NDPS Act and further investigation is on.

Three Member Notorious Irani Gang arrested,by Magadi road police,27 cases detected,Gold ornaments worth Rs.50 lakhs Recovered.

The West Division Police of Magadi road police have arrested three member notorious Irani Gang including a women and Recovered 1.2 kgs gold worth Rs.50 lakhs from them.

The accused has been identified as,Saleem Irani,Azad Irani,and Amnu Irani,

A special task force of West division police  arrested three persons part of notorious chain snatching and attention diversion Irani gang involved in 27 chain snatching cases in and around the city.The police have also recovered 1.2 kgs of gold valuables worth Rs 50 lakh.

A special task force team of police comprising of Magadi road and Vijayanagar police formed after series of cases reported and arrested the gang on December 11 and taken into custody again for investigation.

Senior officer,told media persons,as there were series of chain snatching were reported in Vijayanagar sub-division police station limits,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,under the leadership of ACP Vijayanagar,K Nanjundegowda,formed a special task force team to nab the chain snatchers.

Last month kamakshipalya police station sub-inspector, Santhosh,ASI Ravikumar of Magadi road police station and other staff  arrested one accused and during investigation he spilled the beans whereabouts his gang members.Based on his information,a team went to Dharwad to nab this notorious chain snatching gang.

Sub-inspector Santhosh and his team visited to Dharwad in the month of November to nab the notorious chain snatching gang and they spotted them and when they tried to secure them the accused with the help of their associates attacked our PSI,Santhosh they hurled bottles and pelted stones on them to escape from their clutches after attacking they escaped.

The sub-inspector and his team were rushed to hospital as they were injured in the attack and a case was registered in local police station.

Later DCP(West),Dr Sanjeev M Patil formed a special task force team headed by PI,Magadi Road police Inspector,GT Sreenivas,and other staff were sent to Dharwad to nab the chain snatching gang.

A special task force team headed by PI,GT Sreenivas,visited to Dharwad and camped their to nab the gang the team swung into action and tracked the accused and kept a close watch on their movements and with the help of local police the team zeroed in on the notorious gang and apprehended them.

The team did a ground work on the accused and their supporters and with additional police force as the gang attacked last month kamakshipalya police station sub inspector so for the safety the team took additional police force and surrounded the area.

As soon as they spotted the accused the inspector and his team zeroed in on them and apprehended them and brought them to Bengaluru and produced them before the court and took them into custody.

During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that he and his associates Azad Irani and Amnu Irani used to come to city and rob people before returning to their native Dharward and hand over the booty to Babu Irani,mother of Amnu Irani to dispose the valuable property.

Who later used to handover to her neighbours Fathima Athar and Gulzar Begum to dispose them they used to sell it to Jewellers in and around the area.

Based on their statement the team has recovered  the property from the accused neighbours Fathima Athar and Gulzar Begum weighing 1.2 kgs of gold worth Rs.50 lakhs from their possession.

A case has been registered in Magadi Road police station and further investigation is on and all the trio have been remanded to judicial custody.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated,Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP,West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP, Vijayanagar Sub-Division,K Nanjundegowda,PIs,as,Sreenivas GT, Prashanth,PSIs,as,Santhosh Kumar,Ms.Sudha,Nagaraj,ASI, Ravi Kumar,and other crime staff of special task force for apprehending 3 members of the ‘Irani Gang’ wanted in 27 cases registered in 18 police stations across the city.Ornaments worth Rs.50 lakh have been seized.A total reward of Rs.50K has been given to the task force for their tremendous and exemplary work he added.

Notorious Inter-state Drug Peddler arrested by Kumaraswamy layout police,10kg Marijuana Seized.

The South Division Police of Kumaraswamy layout police on Monday arrested a notorious inter-state drug peddler from Andhra Pradesh and recovered 10 kgs of Marijuana from him.

The accused has been identified as, D.Chinnamallikarjuna native of Reddivarupalli in Ananthpura in Andhra Pradesh was caught red handed while he was waiting for his clients near Banshankari temple.

DCP,South,Harish Pandey,told media persons,based on instructions from higher officers,As part of ongoing special Anti NDPS Squad,of Kumaraswamy layout police arrested a notorious habitual drug peddler.

As on Monday the Kumaraswamy layout police inspector,P Shivakumar and his Anti NDPS Squad received a credible information that one person is waiting near Banashankari temple and it is suspect of having drug in his possession.

Acting on the credible information inspector and his team rushed to the spot and apprehended the accused and found Marijuana drugs in his possession and seized 10 kg Marijuana drugs from his possession and for further investigation they detained him.

During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and it is revealed that the accused is a habitual offender who was peddling drugs in city sourcing from his contacts in Andhra Pradesh.

The accused was smuggling the drugs in goods vehicle along with essentials and sell it to his contacts to make quick money.The accused has been booked under NDPS Act and remanded to judicial custody.
