November 7, 2022 by Nasheman

Parmesh S Jain

The FMCG which is being established in twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad at a cost of Rs.1200 crore, will have all facilities for industrial development after Bengaluru, and provide employment of lakhs of people. This is going to be a model in the entire South India, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking after inaugurating the FMCG Cluster Hubballi Investors meet organised jointly Department of Industries and Commerce,District Administration and FICCI here on Friday,he said economy means labor and there will be no poverty where there is labour.

The area will see development if there are industries to provide jobs.

A nation will grow if the economy and the social values grow. The state government is taking all steps for the all-round development of Karnataka.

Four Special Investors Area in State

He said a draft of Special Investors Region (SIR) for setting up four places in the State including Dharwad is ready and it will be approved in the next Cabinet meeting.

The State has been in forefront in many sectors, and of the total 500 R&D Labs,400 labs are in karnataka.

The revision of R&D Policy is underway. The Employment policy has been implemented keeping the youths in view.Changes will be brought in all fields from time to time.

100 acres for Startups between twin cities
Bommai said for the sake of Startups, one hundred acres of land between Hubballi and Dharwad cities will be identified.

For the first time in the country, Employment, Semiconductor and R&D Policy have been framed by Karnataka, and all these will help in improving the living standard of common people.

If FMCG proves success, it will help in development of not only this region but also will contribute to the nation’s progress.

Even the service sector has been given due importance by keeping in mind the growth of the agriculture field.Increase in providing services helps in creating jobs. In democracy, political will is very important as it will alone help in continuous development.

Along with education, employment opportunities must be available in the North karnataka region. Industries that will provide more jobs are the need of the hour. But at the same time, skill development is a must for the youths.

A conducive atmosphere for job creation must be created. Such efforts in the last two to three decades have yielded results.

Our government has taken several measures in this regard. One thousand acres of land are identified in Belagavi, Dharwad,Haveri,Davangere and Chitradurga for setting up of the Special Industrial Township in each district as part of Mumbai-Chennai Corridor Development. Land has been identified in Chitradurga, Haveri, Belagavi and Dharwad”.

Why bother about us collecting funds from ticket-aspirants: DK Shivakumar to BJP

Why bother about us collecting funds from ticket-aspirants: DK Shivakumar to BJP
Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar

Bengaluru: Congress in Karnataka questioned the ruling BJP as to why it was bothered about the Congress collecting money from candidates aspiring for a ticket to contest the Assembly election which is less than six months away.

“The BJP collected election bond because it is in power but there is no one to give up the election bond. Hence, we are collecting from our party workers but why should it pain the BJP?,” Congress’s Karnataka president D K Shivakumar sought to know while talking to reporters.

The Congress recently announced that those aspiring for a ticket would have to buy a form for Rs 5,000. The general category candidates would have to pay Rs 2 lakh, and scheduled caste and scheduled tribes Rs one lakh towards party fund through demand draft.

“Despite the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president having assets worth crores of rupees, the Congress is going to loot lakhs of rupees from the ticket-aspirants. This will empty the pockets of the aspirants, yet those empty pockets will not get tickets,” the BJP tweeted on Friday.

Shivakumar said he is not bothered about comments passed by the BJP leaders and that the Congress would continue to collect funds.

To a query, the Congress State president said no party leader has expressed displeasure over the fund collection.

He said those unhappy with the move should not stay in the party.

“We took this conscious decision keeping everyone in mind. This is related to our party. Our party has to survive,” Shivakumar said.

Hospital staff will be dismissed if found guilty: Minister says on Tumakuru mother, twins’ death
Dr K Sudhakar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare

Bengaluru: Dr K Sudhakar, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, has said that four staff members of the Tumakuru district hospital, accused of causing the death of a mother and her newborns by denying medical attention, will be dismissed if the charges are proven true.

“Strict legal action will also be taken against them,” the minister said in his post on social media on Friday.

The commissioner of the Department of Health and Family Welfare issued an order suspending a doctor and three nurses of the Tumakuru district hospital on Thursday, as a woman and her newborn children in the city died after being denied timely medical attention at the hospital, said sources.

In his post, Dr Sudhakar has said that, at the outset, it seems an act of dereliction of duty by the doctor and the three nurses of the Obstetrics Ward in the hospital, and the four staff members have been suspended by the Department.

“The government and the Health Department have considered this matter very seriously. A high-level committee has been formed, led by the Commissioner of the Department, for further investigation of the incident. The committee members have also been told to submit a report within two weeks,” the minister said.

Reminding that it is the foremost duty of medical staff, including doctors and nurses, to provide medical attention and treatment to a patient, the minister has said, “The government has already ordered medical professionals not to demand a patient to produce any sort of record. The order is being re-issued.”
