Clueless Acid attack case cracked after 16 days,Acid Attacker Nagesh@Naga arrested by Kamakshipalya police in Tamil Nadu

Kudos to Bengaluru Police and West Division police team for cracking the sensational case a clueless case..

The Kamakshipalya police on Friday,May 13, arrested the accused, who threw acid on a woman in Bengaluru last month.

Nagesh,who was absconding for 16 days, was arrested from Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvannamalai where he was disguised as a Swamiji,the police said.

He was found taking shelter in Ramanashrama where he convinced people that he was an ascetic moving from place to place in search of truth and peace.

Nagesh threw acid at the woman on April 29. He had tried to force the woman into a relationship and threw acid after she rejected his marriage proposals.

Senior officer told reporters,After mounting pressure,the Bengaluru police commissioner,Kamal Pant had strengthened the efforts and formed seven teams under the leadership of Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil was heading the team to nab the man at the earliest.

The police had detained the accused’s elder brother and parents in connection with the case. They had also taken 20 more persons into custody.

The police teams had gone to neighbouring states and other states as Uttarakhand and Kerala in search of Nagesh after getting a tip off that was favour of religious and released pictures of the accused to help the public identify him.

The police also shared various phone numbers to get in touch with them in case one has information.

After throwing acid on a woman on 28 April for spurning his proposal, he escaped and proved a hard nut to crack for police.

The police picking up strings of his past, found that he was a a ‘religious’ man and would take refuge in some religious place.

After two weeks of research they found that he was hiding in Ramanashrama in Thiruvannamalai.

The police team in the guise of devotees went to the ashram and found the accused. One of the constables first jumped on him and pinned him to the ground and after that, the entire team surrounded him and arrested him said a senior officer.

The accused will be produced before the magistrate and will be brought to Bengaluru tonight for further investigations.

The police investigating the attack had said the accused was planning the assault for 20 days and had bought a new SIM card from Byadarahalli on Magadi Road.

Nagesh had told his friends that he lacks peace” in his life and would be out of town for 20 days.

When his friends asked where he would go, Nagesh had allegedly said that all the details and his whereabouts would be available on TV and in newspapers,he said to his friends.

Protests had erupted in several parts of Bengaluru seeking action against the accused.

Students of Nisarga School,where the accused studied along with the survivor, had marched for justice while AAP supporters also protested outside the Kamakshipalya police station.

Meanwhile,the survivor is recovering well at St John’s Hospital,and has been shifted from the ICU to the burning ward.

Earlier this month,the doctors successfully carried out the skin grafting procedure,and said she was responding well to the treatment.

Karnataka Health Minister K Sudhakar had said the state government would take care of the medical treatment cost of the survivor.

The government will not spare the culprit who is responsible for such a heinous act,the government stands with them (survivor and her family) and the treatment of the woman will be taken care of by the government,” Sudhakar said.

Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday announced that the state government would issue an order to distribute sites and houses for the acid attack victims. They would be provided an assistance of up to Rs.5 lakh under self-employment scheme.

“Acid attack victims undergo acute mental agony, rejection by the society.It is the responsibility of the government to rush to their aid.

In this regard their monthly pension has been raised from Rs.3,000 to Rs.10,000.

Apart from this they would be provided site and housing. Financial assistance up to Rs.5 lakh for self-employment so that they could lead a life of dignity on their own,”Bommai said.
