Belagavi : Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara expressed confidence that Congress MLA and former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi will not go ahead with his proposal to resign to the party and the Legislative Assembly.
Addressing newsmen here on Friday, he said that the senior party leaders will try to contact Ramesh Jarkiholi and pursue him not to leave the party.
Stating that nobody is above the party and speaking in terms of causing damage to the party is not a practical one, Dr Parameshwara said that “It is better for him not to mix his personal things with the party matters”.
“Yesterday myself, CLP leader Siddaramaiah and Minister for Water Resources D K Shivakumar met and took stock of the political situation in the backdrop of the resignation threat by Ramesh Jarakiholi and came conclusion that there is no fear of any damage to the coalition government”, he added.
The Deputy Chief Minister was here to attend a marriage function at Khanapur in the District.
