“Cops urges Hi-End Bike owners to exercise caution by taking precautionary measures as bike lifters are targeting Hi-End bikes”:
Those owning expensive bikes should park them within the compound if your house has no compound lock up your bike by chaining it to the nearest pillar we also recommend installation of burglar alarms and GPS trackers in the vehicles.
The Southeast division police of Parappana Agrahara police on Saturday arrested duo Inter-State bike lifters and recovered 25 motorcycles valued at Rs.15 lakh from them.
The accused has been identified as,Chinnapandakutti,27,and his associate,Prabhakaran,31,hail from Krishnagiri in Tamilnadu.
The accused would come to Bengaluru with the aim of stealing motorcycles parked outside houses.
Modus Operandi :
They would break the lock and then bypass the ignition to start the motorcycle, they operated mainly in posh areas like Parappana Agrahara, Hulimavu, Bommanahalli, Mico Layout, Electronics City, HSR Layout and Bellandur police station limits.
DCP Southeast,Dr.M.B.Boralingaiah,told media persons that as there was increase in bike theft complaints in the southeast division police Station limits ACP,Ramesh K.N,formed a special team under the leadership of PI,Parappana Agrahara inspector,Kishore Kumar, and his team swung into action and the duo were arrested by a patrolling unit who found their movements suspicious and apprehended them and took them to station for questioning during questioning our team were not satisfied with their statement so they detained on the suspect and when the crime team grilled them the duo spilled the beans and revealed that they have theft 25 Hi-End bikes in the southeast division
They would target vehicles parked outside the house they would break the lock and then bypass the ignition to start the motorcycle and sell it to youths in the village for cheap rate he and his associate used to operate in the city and based on their statement our team were Successful in recovering 25 Hi-End bikes worth of Rs.15 Lakh and after stealing the bikes they used to spend money in doing party and used to lead a luxurious life and now are cooling their heels in jail.
we found that bike lifters are targeting only KTM,Pulsar and Royal Enfield bikes this is a clear sign that they are lifting only those bikes which fetch them a lot of money when sold.If they try to sell any ordinary bike without supporting documents the most they get is Rs.5000.But when they sell costly bikes they get more money the other reason they prefer these bikes is that they too could ride them for their enjoyment and with this arrest we have detected 20 cases reported across the city and we have traced the owners of 20 bikes and are still trying to find the others. The two accused had been previously booked in theft cases in Tamilnadu.and a case has been registered in parappana Agrahara police station and further investigation is on and finally Bengaluru Police commissioner,T.Suneel Kumar, has appreciated,Addl CP East,Seemanth Kumar Singh,DCP Southeast,Dr.M.B.Boralingaiah,ACP, Electronic city Sub-division,K.N.Ramesh,PI,B.K.Kishore Kumar,PSI,Babu and their crime staff as,Venkatswamy,Shivaraju,Manjunath Lamani,Yogesh,Karibasappa,M.Raghu, Honappa Pujari has done a exemplary work in recovering the 25 stolen bikes worth of Rs.15 lakhs from them he added.
