Bengaluru, Apr 29 : Congress Legislator B Nagendra, who had failed to appear before the Special Court for Peoples Representatives, was remanded to Police custody when he appeared today in connection with hearing of a case pertaining illegal iron ore mining in Ballari district.
The Court had issued Non Bailable Warrant (NBW) against Nagendra as he had failed to adhere to Summons issued against him by the court and when he appeared on Monday the Judge asked Police to take him to custody.
The Judge remarked against Nagendra stating that “You have cultivated habit of not adhering to Summons served in earlier instances and you are also under the impression that you will get NBW quashed and you will be excused. It will not be so”.
