The investigations into suicide case of Kanchugal Bandemutt seer,has been intensified with the police are on the lookout for a woman who allegedly “honey trapped “and blackmailed the seer to extort ransom,which he could not afford.
Basavalinga Swamiji,45,who headed a prominent Lingayat mutt in Magadi taluk of Ramanagara district which runs many educational institutions, found dead at the room of the mutt,leaving behind three suicide notes.
The Kudur police took up the investigations and questioned the car driver and priest of the mutt who were closed to the deceased .
The police have recovered their mobile phones as part of the investigations.
Some of the death notes recovered by the police mentioned few names of the people and investigations are on to ascertain their possible roles in the death of Seer.
The police are have also recovered the mobile phones of the seer and sent it to the FSL to recover the data and the call record details.
Police suspect that Seer has spoke to a prominent person for a long time before taking the extreme step.the efforts are on to retrieve the data ascertain the details minutes fore his extreme step,a police officer,said .
Meanwhile the special team of police trying to track down the woman who had recovered the video conversation with seer .
Police suspect that the accused woman had demanded a ransom of ₹ 10 crore which the seer could not afford to arrange and allegedly ended life.
