The Halasurugate police on Sunday arrested city based advocate Jagadish Mahadev for assaulting the advocates at the court premises and threatening and abusing them including senior officers on social media platforms.
The accused has been identified as,Jagadish Mahadev a city based lawyer.
Senior officer told reporters,Tension gripped at the City Civil Court premises on Friday afternoon when a group of people allegedly assaulted the son of advocate Jagadish.
Halasuru Gate police are yet to file a case in connection with the attack.Jagadish along with his son and colleagues had come to file a petition before the magistrate over alleged land grabbing by IPS officer Ravi D Chennanavar.
Jagadish who had gone to submit documents pertaining to case related to IPS officer Ravi D Channanavar on Friday accompanied by his colleagues and 40 others attacked a senior lawyer Narayaswamy and allegedly assaulted him creating a law and order situation in the city civil court premises.
He also later put out a video on social media threatening and abusing using unparamilitary words to advocates and even the president of the advocates Associates and senior police officers police officials accusing them of their inaction.
As a lawyer he should behave properly in public places and doesn’t have any rights to abuse dynamic and obedient dedicated officers on social media by coming live on Facebook everytime to get publicity as he abused senior officer as Commissioner of police,and DG-IGP of Karnataka and even CM and Home Minister for their inaction a person who tried to become hero by coming live on Facebook abusing cops and politicians is now landed in jail and cooling his heels in jail.
As a senior advocate he should fight for justice legally but not in this way as abusing cops and creating ruckus in court premises as no one has rights to take law into their hands as per law they can fight against corruption said a senior officer.
Taking a strong exception and indiscipline behaviour by Lawyer Jagadish Mahadev, Advocates Association President Vivek Reddy filed a complaint with city police commissioner seeking strict action on Saturday.
Based on the complaint filed by Advocate Narayansaamy G,the Halasurgate police registered an FIR charging him under creating disharmony,enmity feeling of hatred,unlawful assembly,rioting,wrongful restrain,assault and criminal intimidation against him on Saturday.
The police also booked his two colleagues , his son and 40 others as co accused in the case and later in the evening the lawyer Jagadish was produced before the magistrate at his residence and the Magistrate sentenced him to 14 days judicial custody and further investigation is on.
