The Anti-Narcotics wing of the Central Crime Branch on Thursday busted an inter state drug racket and arrested three railway staff from Northeast Frontier Agartala working in coaching depot and recovered Hashish oil and Marijuana worth Rs.80 lakh from them.
The accused identified as Bapat Khare , Pinto Das and Rajesh Das are working as AC attendants and bed roll staff in north east railway
Senior officer told reporters,Based on a tip off a team of officials raided outside Byappanahalli railway station compound and caught the trio red handed .
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and it was revealed the accused working as AC attendants and bed roll staff in Northeast railway on contract basis and also running the drug racket to earn extra money.
During the raid The police team recovered 1.10 Kg of Hashish oil and 4 kilograms of Marijuana and four mobile phones from them.
The accused confessed that they would source the drugs from their contact in native place of Assam and get it to city by concealing in lockers of the bogies .
The accused would then sell the drugs to their contacts and local peddlers for a price of Rs.5 lakh per kilogram of Hashish oil and Rs.50,000 for marijuana.
The police have arrested the trio under NDPS and efforts are on to track down the peddlers who are on the run.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy has appreciated Joint CP Crime Raman Gupta DCP Crime-1 Dr SD Sharanappa and his whole team for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the contract employees of Railway employee who used to get drugs concealed in the boogie of Railway and a special reward will be given to the team for the exemplary and excellent work done by them in nabbing the trio he added.
