President’s address was compilation of PM’s speech: Kharge

February 7, 2019 by Nasheman

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday accused the government of using the President’s address to the joint session of Parliament for political “gains” and dubbed it a compilation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches in rallies.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha on the motion of thanks to the President’s address, Kharge criticised the government’s actions like demonestisation, GST implementation and the Rafale fighter jet deal and said that the BJP came to power in 2014 by “misleading the people which it is still continuing”.

“This was not President’s address. It was a compilation of Prime Minister’s speeches in rallies. Here is a Prime Minister who never listens to anyone but keeps talking about himself. The use of President’s address for political gains shows that how low this government can stoop to save its deteriorating reputation,” he said.

He alleged that the government was not only weakening Constitutional institutions but trying to finish them day after day.

“This government is not working according to the Constitution. Issues are not being discussed in the Cabinet. Whatever Modiji says, that happens,” he said referring to the Constitution amendment Bill that provides 10 per cent reservation for economically poor among general categories.

Kharge said that even as the Bill was taken up in the Lok Sabha for discussion and passing in an unstarred reply in Paliament, the Minister concerned had denied that the government has any proposal to provide reservation for the poor among upper castes.

He said that it pained him when the President, in his address, compared the work done by the Modi government and the previous governments.

“At least give us the credit for our work. But you won’t give us credit because you are full of hatred. Despite our doing so much work, you allege every now and then that nothing has happened in last 60 years,” the Congress leader said.

He listed the Congress’s achievements in the form of reducing illiteracy and infant mortality rate while it took several measures like green revolution, establishing educational institutions and many other pioneering measures.

Kharge said the Congress governments in the past had done everything to save the country and the democracy while the BJP-led government has been misleading the youth.

“We developed this country as self-dependent, competent and one with self respect. We strengthened the democracy and saved the country. You came in power by making false promises but you did not stop here. You are continuously lying. Because it has been in your habit,” he said.

Referring to issues of demonestisation and the GST, Kharge slammed the government saying the two decisions broke the back of the farmers, labourers and the small and medium businessmen.

He also raised the issue of Rafale fighter jet deal and demanded a joint parliamentary probe into it.

Hitting out at government over the farmers’ plight across the country, he said it did nothing for the farmers in the last five years.

“Why are you not writing off the farmers’ loans when you can waive Rs 1.10 lakh crore of loans of industrialists. You did nothing for the farmers. You did not even implement the promises for them. Now, when you are going to face elections, you are trying to give them something. But this is not going to work,” he said.

Yeddy will become CM : Astrologer.

February 7, 2019 by Nasheman

If all goes as per the prediction of two astrologers from here, Yeddyurappa should occupy the chair of chief minister (CM) of Karnataka state within 30 days.

Yeddyurappa should take oath as CM by March 5 according to Vidwan Ganesh Hegde and Pavan Joshi, who the sources claim have gone through the horoscope of B S Yeddyurappa.

Both the astrologers said on Monday, February 4 that their earlier predictions also have proved correct. They are claiming that they predicted that coalition of Congress and JD (S) will form government after the last assembly elections. In addition, Vidwan Hegde says that he predicted the formation of government by Yeddyurappa way back in 2008 also.

According to the placement of planets on the horoscope of Yeddyurappa, he is favoured to be the CM again, claims Hegde. However, he quickly added that till the month of October, Yeddyurappa will face issues even after forming the government. The astrologer also said that H D Kumaraswamy’s seeking of diving intervention is not going to bear any fruit and he will lose his position as the planets in his horoscope are not in his favour.

In addition to the prediction of the state political scene, the duo also said that Modi will be further popular after the month of March and BJP will secure more than 285 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Karnataka assembly adjourned over BJP ruckus

February 7, 2019 by Nasheman

Nasheman News :Uproar and protest by BJP legislators against the JD-S-Congress coalition government on Thursday forced the Karnataka legislature, comprising Assembly and Council, to adjourn.

As soon as the Assembly and Council began on the second day of the 10-day Budget session, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators walked towards the Chairs of the Houses and shouted slogans against the ruling allies.

“Step down, step down. Chief Minister, step down!” the legislators screamed, alleging that the Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S)-Congress coalition government was in power despite “not having majority”.

In the Assembly, Speaker K.R. Ramesh Kumar adjourned the proceedings till Friday as the BJP members continued their protest and refused to return to their seats to allow smooth conduct of the business listed for the day.

The Legislative Council was also adjourned till afternoon.

“We are protesting because the JD-S-Congress coalition does not have the support of the majority. They do not have the moral right to present a new Budget under such circumstances,” BJP state unit President B.S. Yeddyurappa told reporters outside the Assembly later.

His party, however, will not be moving a ‘no-confidence’ motion against the government, he said.

The Budget session began on a stormy note on Wednesday amid BJP legislators’ protests, forcing Governor Vajubhai Vala to cut short his address to a joint session.

The budget will be presented on Feb 8th at 12.30 P M, It remains to be seems whether it will be stromy budget or smooth one nevertheless the Present coalition Government which in on the razor edge will survive or not only time will tell.

ISL: Bengaluru fight back to snatch a point against Kerala

February 7, 2019 by Nasheman

Nasheman News : A brilliant second-half performance helped Bengaluru FC salvage a draw against Kerala Blasters FC in an action-packed Indian Super League clash at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Wednesday.

Slavisa Stojanovic scored a 16th-minute penalty before a fabulous strike from Courage Pekuson handed the visitors a two-goal lead at the break. But just as it seemed that Kerala Blasters could win their first match against Bengaluru FC, a header from Udanta Singh (69′) and another from Sunil Chhetri (85′) helped the Blues grab a point.

The result sees Bengaluru extend their lead atop the ISL table to four points, while Kerala Blasters remain winless in 14 matches and are rooted to the ninth spot.

Kerala threatened from the start and a rampaging run by Mohammad Rakip down the right flank in the 14th minute provided the breakthrough. The young full-back’s cross from the right hit Kean Lewis’ hand and Stojanovic stepped up to convert the resultant penalty-kick to put his team in the lead.

Chances were few and far between for Bengaluru. In the 35th minute, Dimas Delgado released Edmund Lalrindika into the box with a perfectly-weighted through-ball but Sandesh Jhingan quickly came across to sweep the ball off the striker’s feet.

Kerala’s persistence in attack was rewarded in the 40th minute as Sahal Abdul Samad split the Bengaluru backline with an excellent pass for Seiminlen Doungel. The forward was denied space to shoot but he laid the ball off for an onrushing Pekuson who belted an outstanding strike from outside the box into the top corner of the net.

In response to going behind, the hosts upped the ante by playing more balls into the box. Rahul Bheke and Udanta Singh played excellent crosses from the right, both aimed at Chhetri, but the skipper sent his header off target on both instances.

Chhetri went close again a few minutes later when he met Delgado’s cross from the right with a powerful first-time effort. Kerala goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh made a good save to deny the India international and keep Kerala’s two-goal lead intact.

Bengaluru finally managed to carve the Kerala defence open in the 69th minute. Chhetri headed Erik Paartalu’s lofted ball back across the box into the path of Udanta Singh who headed home, leaving the defenders rooted to the spot.

The hosts equalised with five minutes left on the clock. Udanta received Harmanjot Khabra’s backheel and crossed into the box from the right flank. Chhetri got to the end of it, beating Rakip in the air for a powerful header into the net.

Bengaluru will take heart from a superb second-half comeback, while Kerala Blasters were left to ponder what could have been.

2nd T20I: India face must-win situation vs New Zealand

February 7, 2019 by Nasheman

Nasheman News: After the 80-run hammering on Wednesday, a desperate India will be eyeing for a strong comeback against New Zealand in the second contest of the three-match Twenty20 rubber at Eden Park here on Friday.

While the visitors face a must-win situation, another victory for the Kiwis will seal a moral series victory win for them.

In the first game, neither the Indian batsmen nor the bowlers clicked as they succumbed before a clinical all-round show by the hosts. Kiwi opener Tim Seifert (84 off 43) hammered the Indian bowlers all around the Park on Wednesday and it would be crucial to pack back him early on Friday.

Experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Khaleel Ahmed had failed to contain Seifert.

In such a crunch situation, the Indian team management could replace Khaleel with either Siddharth Kaul or Mohammad Siraj, who missed the last game.

A lot will also depend on the batsmen, who too, had surrendered as none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni (39 off 31) showed any fight in the last issue. Despite going with eight batsmen, India were wrapped up for a paltry 139, suffering an 80-run defeat – India’s biggest defeat in T20 in terms of margin.

While trying to strengthen their batting, India went in with all-rounder Krunal Pandya and stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma will likely opt to select the service of chinaman Kuldeep Yadav, dropping the former.

Mostly, Kuldeep has been economical during the slog overs and as India leaked too many runs in the middle overs in last game, the chinaman has a strong chance of making to the playing eleven.

On the other hand, the hosts almost ticked all the boxes and will like to continue with the same momentum on Friday.

With the top-order firing, the only major cause of concern for them is lack of support from the middle-order, which had a lacklusture outing in the last game.

Apart from veteran batsman Ross Taylor, none of their middle-order clicked.

Their bowling, spearheaded by pacer Trent Boult, was far more than impressive while the spinners Ish Sodhi and Mitchell Santner also supported the pace attack handsomely.

Overall, an interesting contest is up on cards for fans on Friday.

Squads:

New Zealand: Kane Williamson (Captain), Doug Bracewell, Colin de Grandhomme, Lockie Ferguson, Scott Kuggeleijn, Colin Munro, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Tim Seifert (wicket-keeper), Ish Sodhi, Tim Southee, Ross Taylor, Blair Tickner, James Neesham.

India: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Kedar Jadhav, M.S. Dhoni (wicket-keeper), Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddarth Kaul, K. Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya.
