40 Trinamool Congress MLAs ready to join once BJP wins polls, says PM Narendra Modi

April 29, 2019 by Nasheman

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday claimed that 40 TMC MLAs are in touch with him, and ready to desert the party once the BJP wins the polls.

“Didi, on May 23 when the results will come, lotus will bloom everywhere and your MLAs will leave you. Even today, Didi, 40 of your MLAs are in contact with me,” the Prime Minister remarked.

Modi said that despite all the attacks and intimidation by the ruling Trinamool Congress, the people of Bengal had only one motto in this Lok Sabha election.

“They have only one motto… chup chap kamal chap, booth booth se TMC saaf (Silently vote for the lotus symbol, remove TMC from all booths),” Modi added.

He also accused TMC supremo, Mamata Banerjee of nepotism, insisting she wants to politically establish her nephew in West Bengal.V

PM Modi in Sreerampur: Didi said she wants to give me rasgulla made of soil & pebbles.Soil of Bengal has essence of greats like Ramakrishna Paramhansa,Swami Vivekananda,JC Bose,Netaji,SP Mukherjee & if Modi gets rasgulla made of this holy soil then it will be a ‘prasad’ for Modi.

Modi also assailed her over her prime ministerial ambitions, saying “Didi, Dilli door hai (Delhi is far away for you).

Mocking Banerjee for often losing her cool as she was “sensing defeat”, Modi said she cannot even dream of becoming the prime minister.

“With just a handful of seats, ‘Didi’ you can’t reach Delhi. Delhi is far away. Going to Delhi is just an excuse. Her real intention is to politically establish her nephew,” he said.

‘RBI Act should mandate disclosure of loan defaulters’

April 29, 2019 by Nasheman

Chennai, Apr 29 : In view of the recent ruling of the Supreme Court, the government has to amend the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Act sooner or later and publish the names of loan defaulters periodically, a top official of the All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) said on Monday.

Welcoming the apex court order directing the RBI to disclose its inspection reports of banks and the names of loan defaulters, AIBEA General Secretary C.H. Venkatachalam said the Supreme Court has vindicated the long standing stance of the AIBEA on the issue of banks’ non-performing assets (NPAs or bad loans).

“Sooner or later, the government and the RBI have to come out, amend the RBI Act and publish the names of defaulters periodically to let the country know who are these defaulters and cheaters of people’s money,” he said.

Venkatachalam said the total amount of loan outstanding from 9,331 willful defaulters as on March 31, 2018, stands at Rs 1,22,018 crore.

Gross NPAs in the Indian banking system have grown beyond proportion over the years to touch a staggering Rs 8,95,600 crore as at the end of the financial year 2017-18.

RaGa expresses regret in apex court, Centre seeks more time to file affidavit

April 29, 2019 by Nasheman

New Delhi, Apr 29 : High-profile action was witnessed in the Supreme Court on Monday as the Centre sought more time to file an affidavit in the Rafale review petition case.
Earlier in the day, Indian National Congress president Rahul Gandhi filed a fresh affidavit in compliance with the apex court order asking him to respond to the contempt petition filed by Bharatiya Janata Party MP Meenakshi Lekhi.
Expressing regret for attributing the ‘chowkidar chor hai’ comment to the apex court, Mr Gandhi said, ”I regret my remark.”
The Congress president expressed regret but no apology in his affidavit.
He averred that petitioner Meenakshi Lekhi was seeking political mileage under the pretext of contempt petition.
The Supreme Court had rejected Mr Gandhi’s plea to close the criminal contempt petition.
It will hear the matter tomorrow.
Centre seeks more time
“We need more time to file an affidavit in the Rafale review petitions case,” Solicitor-General Tushar Mehta told the Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi-led three-judge bench.
The Centre also sought deferment of Tuesday’s hearing in the case.
Allowing the Centre more time to file the affidavit, the bench however, did not pass any order on the deferment of Tuesday’s hearing.
The bench allowed the Centre to circulate the letter requesting adjournment in the Rafale review petitions case.
As per earlier order of the apex court, the matter was listed for an hearing on Tuesday.

8.42pc polling recorded in Anantnag PC till 1500 hrs

April 29, 2019 by Nasheman

Anantnag, Apr 29 : About 8.42 per cent polling was recorded till 1500 hrs in Kulgam district in the second of three phase polling in Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency (PC) in south Kashmir on Monday.

The polling is being held under unprecedented security arrangements following a strike called by Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Monday in election-bound areas.

An official spokesman said that till 1500 hrs about 8.42 per cent polling was recorded.

The first phase in Anantnag district recorded 13.6 per cent polling on April 23 while the last and third phase of election in Pulwama and Shopian districts will be held on May 6 in the constituency.

Polling started at 0700 hrs and will conclude at 1600 hrs in the polling stations.

However, at some places, including Laram in Homeshalibugh Assembly constituency, polling was delayed by over 45 minutes.

Surprisingly at many polling stations there is no polling agent of political parties in the fray. However, Congress has managed to bring some polling agents from central Kashmir district of Budgam after the party could not get any local resident.

Zahid, a resident of Badgam said he was assigned the job by the Congress to stand as polling agent in one of the polling stations. ”Yes I am afraid since it is very tense with security forces deployed there”.

Pak Says Open to Masood Azhar’s Listing as Global Terrorist, But Adds Pulwama Condition

April 29, 2019 by Nasheman

While India grapples with the blacklisting of Masood Azhar in the United Nations Security Council, Pakistan has said that it is open to the listing of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief, as long as it was not related to the Pulwama terror attack. The comments were made by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal on a Pakistani TV show, Islamabad Views, on Sunday.

“(India should) give evidence that Masood Azhar had anything to do with the attack in Pulwama. If that is not the case, then we can discuss the listing. It is not a big issue,” Faisal said. Stating that the Pulwama attack was a separate issue, Faisal said that his country had said, several times, that India was trying to “suppress” the indigenous uprising in Jammu and Kashmir.

Faisal’s statement comes days after the United Kingdom said it was optimistic that Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief Masood Azhar will soon be declared a global terrorist by the United Nations even as it called for “verifiable” and “irreversible” action against terror groups by Pakistan.

Last month, China put a technical hold on a fresh proposal to impose a ban on Azhar, the head of Pakistan-based JeM which claimed responsibility for the Pulwama attack. It was for the fourth time, China blocked Azhar’s listing.

“We are strong supporter of listing of Azhar. We hope there will be conclusion to the issue soon,” Asquith added.

The fresh proposal to designate Azhar under the 1267 Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council was moved by France, the UK and the US, in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
