Enviornment Pollution is harmful by: Prasuna. P

February 14, 2021 by Nasheman

Environment pollution is the mixing of harmful pollutants into the environment causing disturbance to the natural processes and cycles. Various types of environmental pollution are categorized as the water pollution, air pollution, land pollution and noise pollution. Production of solid and liquid wastes on a large scale from the industries, emissions of hazardous gases, deforestation, global warming, and many more problems originated by human beings are the main reasons of increasing environmental pollution. In the last one decade, there is a great increase in the level of environmental pollution and the scenario has become worse than earlier.

All the natural gases in the environment make their balance by reacting to each other. Some of them are used as food by plants like carbon dioxide. But, just imagine what happens when we start finishing plants. Decreasing number of plants causes less use of carbon dioxide which gets spread into the whole environment and in turn increases environmental temperature level and thus global warming. We are doing lots of such mistakes daily and it should not be a big surprise for us that one day the chance of life existence would be finished on this planet.

Environmental pollution needs a global level awareness and every one of us needs to understand our all mistakes, causes of pollution, ways to solve the problems created by it and most importantly how to stop the negative environmental changes and environmental pollution.

Conclusion:

Environmental pollution has become a great concern to save our planet. We need to adapt various measures to reduce environmental pollution. Some of them include planting trees, reducing the use of non-renewable resources, proper disposal of wastes, etc. It is the responsibility of every individual to save our environment from getting polluted.

Omar Abdullah claims he, his family put under house arrest

Srinagar: National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Sunday claimed he and his family, including his father and Member of Parliament Farooq Abdullah, have been put under house arrest by authorities.

This is the naya/new J&K after Aug 2019. We get locked up in our homes with no explanation. It’s bad enough they’ve locked my father (a sitting MP) & me in our home, they’ve locked my sister & her kids in their home as well, Omar wrote on Twitter.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister also posted photographs showing police vehicles outside the gates of his residence in the Gupkar area of the city here.

Omar also alleged that his house staff was not being let inside.

Chalo, your new model of democracy means that we are kept in our homes without explanation but on top of that the staff that works in the house aren’t being allowed in and then you are surprised that I’m still angry & bitter, he said in another tweet.

PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had on Saturday too claimed that she was placed under house arrest ahead of her visit to the family of Athar Mushtaq — one of the three alleged militants killed in an encounter in Parimpora locality here in December last year.

“Placed under house arrest as usual for trying to visit the family of Athar Mushtaq killed allegedly in a fake encounter. His father was booked under UAPA for demanding his dead body. This the normalcy GOI wants to showcase to the EU delegation visiting Kashmir (sic), she had said on Twitter.

US Senate clears Donald Trump over January 6 Capitol violence following impeachment trial

US Senate clears Donald Trump over January 6 Capitol violence following impeachment trial

The US Senate has acquitted Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial, as it fell short of the two-thirds majority needed to convict the former president on a charge of inciting the January 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

Following four days of the impeachment trial, the 100-member Senate voted to impeach Trump by 57-43 votes, 10 votes short of the two-thirds majority needed for conviction.

Trump, a Republican, is the first-ever president to have been impeached twice and the first president to have faced impeachment after leaving office.

Trump, 74, faced the charge of incitement of insurrection over the deadly January 6 assault of the US Capitol by his supporters.

Seven Republican Senators — Bill Cassidy, Richard Burr, Mitt Romney, Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Ben Sasse and Pat Toomey — voted in favour of impeaching him.

If he had been convicted, the Senate could have voted to bar him from running for office ever again.

Trump released a statement soon after the acquittal, saying “no president has ever gone through anything like it”.

“It is a sad commentary on the times that one political party in America is given a free pass to denigrate the rule of law, defame law enforcement, cheer mobs, excuse rioters, and transform justice into a tool of political vengeance, and persecute, blacklist, cancel and suppress all people and viewpoints with whom or which they disagree,” he said.

Trump denounced the trial as “the greatest witch hunt in history”.

“I always have, and always will be a champion for the unwavering rule of law, the heroes of law enforcement, and the right of Americans to peacefully and honourably debate the issues of the day without malice and hate,” he said.

He thanked his team of dedicated lawyers and others for their tireless work “upholding justice and defending the truth”.

“My deepest thanks as well to all of the United States Senators and Members of Congress who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country,” Trump said in the statement.

Trump’s lawyers argued that his insurrection incitement charge was a “monstrous lie” and the impeachment proceedings against the former president was a “politically motivated witch hunt” by the Democrats.

After the vote, the senior Republican in Congress, Senator Mitch McConnell said Trump had been “responsible” for the assault on the Capitol and called it a “disgraceful, disgraceful dereliction of duty”.

However, he voted against conviction, saying it was unconstitutional now that Trump was no longer president.

McConnell warned Trump could still be held liable in court.

“He didn’t get away with anything yet. Yet. We have a criminal justice system in this country, we have civil litigation and former presidents are not immune from being [held] accountable by either one,” he said.

In their closing statements, the Democratic House of Representatives lawmakers appointed to lead the process through the Senate warned that it would be dangerous to acquit Trump.

The Washington Post said that the result underscored Trump’s continued grip on most Republicans despite the party losing control of both the White House and Congress during his tumultuous tenure.

Karnataka Dy CM meets Rajnath Singh; seeks 750 acres defence land in Belagavi for IT park

New Delhi: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister C N Ashwatha Narayana on Saturday called on Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and requested him to handover 750 acres defence land in Belagavi to facilitate setting up of a proposed IT park.

The defence land, which originally belongs to Belagavi, is located adjacent to the National Highway 4 and is ideal for the development of IT park, he told reporters after the meeting.

Though the state government had sought for the transfer of this land in November 2012, it is still in the possession of the defence department, he added.

Narayan, who holds the Electronic and the IT-BT portfolio, said the state government has introduced a new IT policy recently and has rolled out the ‘Beyond Bengaluru’ project to promote IT/ITes, electronic industries in regions outside Bengaluru.

“In light of the above reasons, handing over of the land in Belagavi would enable the growth of the IT-related industry so as to achieve a balanced growth,” he said.

The proposed IT park aims to generate about 60 lakh direct and indirect jobs and there has been a persistent demand for this from the representatives of the Belagavi region, he added.
