“I have given up on all the worldly pleasures and turned into a nun as result of my inner calling” – Sofia Hayat

June 9, 2016 by Shaheen Raaj

gaia mother sofia

Hollywood model turned actress Sofia Hayat certainly needs no special introduction as she has certainly carved a niche for herself as an actress of repute. But now all of a sudden she has done a complete volte face and recently revealed why she has turned into a nun and even went to the extent of displaying the silicon implants removed from her breasts. Present herewith is an exclusive 1st person interaction with her, held recently at HL JW Marriot. Tune in!

Ever since her transformation into Gaia Mother Sofia, Hollywood model & actress turned nun Sofia Hayat has been criticising the use of make – up and had even said that she will never have sex or get married. She averred, “We are beautiful without make – up, hair colour, fashion et al. We are perfect as we are.”

Now, Sofia has also apologised to her fans for her ‘previous life’ as a model & actress. She reiterated, “I apologise to my fans and anybody who found me beautiful with makeup & implants. 3 weeks ago, I also had my implants removed.”

Sofia further stated that she will never have sex, get married or have children. When asked if she considers having sex or getting married wrong, Sofia stated, “The problem is media promotes sexual promiscuity. There is nothing wrong with making love. I say, make love and connect to your bodies. I will not marry or have sex or have children as I need to save myself for my children earth, as I am now the Holy Mother Gaia Mother Sofia.”

She continued further, “Unfortunately, women start believing that showing sexy & curvy body is freedom. The truth, however, is that media, all media organisations across the world are directly or indirectly controlled by men. So what we thought was freedom, was just a man’s view of how a woman should look. That is some freedom!”.

Sofia was literally in tears when she spoke of her visit to Egypt. She is now in India to support different NGO’S and even want to visit all the draught affected areas in Maharashtra. Besides she firmly stressed on the fact that she has finally given up her on all her worldly pleasures and she will never be tempted ever to respond to her sexual urges. This renouncement of all worldly pleasures is a result of an inner calling which I got in the month of Sept, 2015.”

Her upcoming film is Six X, (probably her last) was recently showcased in Cannes Film Festival, but here too she has firmly & strongly stressed on the fact, “I have already given up on my chequered filmy career and I will certainly not promote the so called film Six X.”

An Interview With Producer Chanderpaul Singh (Bhouri)

June 4, 2016 by Shaheen Raaj

Bhouri

Débutante producer Chanderpaul Singh is now ready with an off beat & realistic film, needless to say with all the commercial trappings intact, offering named Bhouri. In this exclusive interview he speaks at length all about his pet project Bhouri.

producer, chandrapal singh film bhouri
prod, chandrapal singh

ON HIS LATEST UPCOMING FILM BHOURI

First of all I would like to enlighten one & all that my upcoming film Bhouri is a women centric film. It depicts how all women, especially if they are beautiful, in a particular small village is treated as an object of lusty desire of some men to give vent to their carnal pleasure.

ON THE BRIEF OUTLINE ABOUT THE PLOT OF BHOURI

The opening sequence of Bhouri introduces us to the part of a famished rural India to which the higher authorities have turned a blind eye. The local governance & supplies are dominated by a group of 5 upper class men who collectively rule the village. They exploit their power in every possible way. The villagers are compelled to satisfy them, often at a great expense to their meagre means & dignified self respect to the extent that most of the women, especially Bhouri the most beautiful of them who was recently married to Dhanua one of the villager, in the village have been compelled to flesh trade for these so called 5 tyrants’ gratified sexual pleasures. And all these women are a hapless & helpless as their men folks’ only means of livelihood in the village is the Zamindar owned & run kiln (Bhatta). The film Bhouri narrates the plight of these women who are sexually exploited sometimes even with force. Until Bhouri revolts & protests strongly against this sexual malpractices.

ON THE CONSTANT SEXUAL EXPLOITATION SCENARIO IN BOLLYWOOD MOVIES

Yes! You are right on this score but you forget one thing that every film maker & director presents such oft repeated scenario with their own perspective, their own hindsight. And as far as Bhouri is concerned it is based on one particular angle which is set against the backdrop of the fight of women in rural India. In particular Bhouri is based on a fictional yet somewhat true story of a 22 year old girl named Bhouri whose extremely fair complexion & sharp features became a source of endless pain & punishment in life as her only crime was that her over attractive looks aroused (sexual) lust, lust & only lust.

ON THE SUPPOSED CENSOR BOARDS OBJECTION AGAINST THE BLATANTLY BOLD THEME OF BHOURI WITH A FAIR AMOUNT OF SKIN SHOW

The skin show that you are referring to has been done in a very decent & dignified manner as per the requirement of the theme of the film. So I don’t think the censors will raise any objections to it.

ON THE PARTING SHOT OF GIVING AN INSIGHT INTO THE CAST & CREW OF BHOURI

Bhouri has been produced by me under the banner of S Video Picture Pvt Ltd Presents. The other crew members are directed by Jasbir Bhati, screenplay & dialogues by Jagat Bhushan Singh & Manjeet Mahipal, cinematography by Mohammed Rubaiz, editing by Mansoor Azmi & Miraz Ali, music by Sanjay Pathak & lyrics by Priya Pathak & Manjeet Mahipal. The film stars débutante Masha Paur as Bhouri & stalwarts like Raghuveer Yadav, Kunika, Shakti Kapoor, Mohan Joshi, Sitaram Panchal, Mohan Joshi, Mukesh Rishi & above all Aditya Pancholi.

Movie Review: ‘Shaukeen Kaminay’ is a cliched social comedy

June 4, 2016 by Nasheman

Shaukeen Kaminay

Producers: Brajesh Pandey and Pratima Pandey
Director: Anil Chourasiya
Star Cast: Kartik Gaur, Narendra Tiwari, Sahil Garg, Vanshika Gupta, Yasmin Pathan & Priyanka Singh

Hardik (Kartik Gaur), Som (Narendra Tiwari) and Sunny (Sahil Garg) are three best bachelor friends staying together and always busy enjoying life. Besides one day they take a bait that they will marry only a virgin girl. One day they land up in a small village called Nariganj which has a concept of One Night Wedding. All three of them get married to innocent village girls, pay the money to enjoy a few days with them and return back to the city and get busy with their daily routine.

The only redeeming factor of Shaukeen Kaminay is the good performances of Kartik Gaur, Narendra Tiwari & Sahil Garg. All three of them have tried to give off their best in their debut roles. That apart one or two songs are really catchy.

The concept of the film itself is too far fetched and unbelievable and to save their skin the film makers have tried to pass it off as fictional. The worst disappointment are the female brigade of actors who are neither good looking nor can they act for nuts.

All in all Shaukeen Kaminay may be liked by the rural audiences but its prospects in the Metro cities are very bleak.

Movie Review: ‘The Nice guys’ is an absolutely enjoyable film

June 4, 2016 by Shaheen Raaj

The Nice guys

Producer: Joel Silver
Director: Shane Black
Star Cast: Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, Keith David, Angourie Rice, Margeret Qualley, Kim Bassinger and Matt Bomer

In 1977 Los Angeles, a boy named Bobby witnesses fading porn star Misty Mountains (Murielle Telio) die in a car crash. Later that week, down – on – his – luck private eye Holland March (Ryan Gosling) is approached by Mrs. Glenn, the aunt of Misty Mountains who is obsessively claiming to have seen her niece alive. Holland is sceptical of her claim, but realizes that a missing girl named Amelia Kutner (Margaret Qualley) is somehow involved and accepts the job. However, Amelia does not wish to be found and hires enforcer Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) to intimidate Holland into staying away from her. Healy fights with the older Guy, while Blue Face is seriously injured in a hit –and – run while chasing Holly and Amelia. Blue Face reveals to Healy that their boss has dispatched a hit man named John Boy (Matt Bomer) to kill Amelia.

Directorially the film is very powerful, take a bow Mr. Shane Blake, and the added bonanza is the sterling performances by the 2 lead actors Russell Crowe & Ryan Gosling and the surprise packet of the film is Matt Bomer, though his act sounds more like a cameo.

Its Very hard to find a spoiler in a movie so interesting.

After a long time here comes a movie which is not to be missed at any cost. A word of caution, the movie is not suitable for children of impressionable age.

Chandrakant Singh’s Six X Shown At Recently Held Cannes film festival.

June 2, 2016 by Shaheen Raaj

Chandrakant Singh

Chandrakant Singh is a film maker who insists that he is perennial student who learns from life, from other people’s lives, from watching cinema and creates cinema through that experience. He avers, “As a film maker, I have observed there are some very poignant imbalances in interpersonal relationships between men & women based on social norms & perspectives and I try to present them in my films.”

He continues further, “Men & women are supposed to be equal partners, yet, when it comes to sex, women are looked down upon if they are open about their urges & desires. Why do men feel insecure with such women? Why does society expect women to curb their own sexuality. This is hypocrisy, both, at a personal level and within society that percolates across socio – economic levels and is apparently also immune to wealth & education. This is a subject that is a part of everyday life in almost every family across India, yet it is glossed over or ignored by most film makers. My film Six X takes a shot at it. It is being co – produced by Shadab Khan. My casting includes some of the top talent available within the Industry. Ashmit Patel, Sofia Hayat, Sweta Tiwari, Andria Dsouza, Anusmriti Sarkar, Rashmi Desai, Hrishita Bhatt & Zaid Shaikh are some of the cast. Some of my initial previews within the industry and outside including some non -Indian friends from varied parts of the World, elicited an almost universal refrain: they did not see this as an Indian problem alone but a World phenomena, even in the developed world.”

Chanderkant Singh rounded off the interview session with a conclusion, “Cannes is an international meeting place for film makers and talent from all across the world, a showplace for world cinema. World cinema, to me, is actually cinema that is at harmony with human emotions. Films like The Lunch Box and others have more than proved that ever so often. And that is why I was there. I was there for a bigger reason than selling my film. I was looking for co – producers, investors, actors for my next project and other projects that need global inputs at all levels in between, I showed my film Six X, saw other films and discovered a mutual meeting point for us all. That was why I was here at Cannes to present my film at the market and also to see a lot of films and their makers and hopefully discover points at which we can meet mutually.”
