Movie Review: ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is spell binding, captivating, enchanting, endearing & entertaining beyond imagination

Sure enough director Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a well – known filmmaker of Bollywood, who needs no special introduction whatsoever. He had conceived this dream of making a historic biopic on Bajirao Mastani almost a decade ago. But he shelved the project midway due to unavoidable circumstances. And during this interim phase he ended up making films like Black, Saawasriya, Guzarish, Goliyon Ki Rasleela – Ram Leela. And finally he succeeded in filming & releasing his ambitious decade long dream project Bajirao Mastani. And what a brilliant film he has made!!!

Bajirao Mastani is a short & sweet triangular love drama. The scripted scenario of Bajirao Mastani kicks off with Bajirao (Ranveer Singh) being appointed as a Peshwa. Then soon enough Mastani (Deepika Padukone) seeks his help to save her kingdom. Although Bajirao is already married to Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra), love blossoms between Bajirao & Mastani.

In short Bajirao Mastani explicitly projects the period love story, the lovers conflict, the dramatic altercations, the battle sequences and of course, the ostentatiously opulence settings. The script is faultless, the pace is racy, in fact director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has kept a tight reigns on his cast & crew and thereby no one falters. The entire film keeps you hooked till the end with not a dull moment till the climax arrives which leaves you with a filling of déjà vu. Overall Bajirao Mastani is an enthralling period film that transports you to an era you had only read about in history books.

The entire team of Sanjay Leela Bhansali comprising of screenplay by Prakash R. Kapadia, additional screenplay by Sanjay Leela Bhansali & Mallika Dutt Gharde, editing by Rajesh G. Pandey, cinematography by Sudeep Chatterjee, music by Sanchit Balhara, Shreyas Puranik & Sanjay Leela Bhansali, action by Sham Kaushal, production designing by Sriram Kannan Iyengar, Sujeet Subhash Sawant, Saloni & Ankush Dhatrak et all deserves kudos for their brilliant efforts as they have given their full concentration & cooperation for Bhansali’s dream offering Bajirao Mastani. Besides Bhansali and his crew have adorned the film with fascinating characters & inspirational sub – plots that advance into a stunning culmination. But somewhere along the line Bajirao Mastani’s music does reminds you off the classical touch that reflects in all the songs especially the “Pinga” song that has an uncanny resemblance to “Dola Re” from Devdas.

Performance wise Ranveer Singh as Bajirao has delivered a mind blowing act. He is in his element by sinking his teeth deep into his character which proves he is in top form. This time he has finally proved that he is certainly an actor to be reckoned with and is here to stay. His body language is in sync with his character from “The Beginning” to “The End”. He has worked wonders in the climatic portions too. Deepika Padukone as Mastani is a sheer delight. She adds one more histrionic feather in her illustrious & chequered career after Piku. Priyanka Chopra springs a magical surprise with her tour de performance. She is indeed too good to be true. And both Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra deserves all kudos oriented brownie points for depicting their brilliant on screen chemistry, almost as good as the Aishwarya Rai Bachchan & Maadhuri Dixit’s on screen chemistry in Bhansali’s own film Devdas. And last but not the least even the supporting cast is top notch, especially Tanvi Azmi (terrific), Milind Soman (wonderful), Vaibbhav Tatwawdi (superb), Yateen Karyekar (competent). Mahesh Manjrekar (perfect), Raza Murad (good) & Aditya Pancholi (eye catching). In fact all of them have enacted their respective roles with finesse.

Tail Piece: Bajirao Mastani is like a precious cinematic diamond which will leave you stunned till the last frame. It will leave you spell bound with its picture perfect performances, deft direction, superb screenplay, dynamic dialogues, melodious music and last but not the least the lavish mounting. Surely not be missed highly recommended fare.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starts shooting for Omang Kumar’s biopic Sarbjit

Of late there has been a lot of excitement for Omung Kumar’s upcoming biopic Sarbjit. The movie which has kick started shooting from this week with their its 1st schedule in Mumbai, stars Aishwarya Rai- Bachchan & Randeep Hooda in the lead. While Randeep Hooda has already shot his 1st scene as Sarbjit, Aishwarya Rai – Bachchan also started with the shooting recently.

Being a biopic, the makers have kept the looks of both lead characters extremely guarded but a Aishwarya Rai – Bachchan is going to have a complete de – glam look. The bewitching actress who is always been portrayed as the diva of Bollywood would go for a complete make over for her role as Dalbir Kaur, Sarabjit’s sister in the movie. In order to portray the realistic character of Dalbir Kaur, Aishwarya has chosen a de – glam look with no makeup & simple dressing .

With Aishwarya Rai – Bachchan donning a complete de – glamorized look, it would be exciting to see how this gorgeous actress will look in the character of a middle aged struggling woman.

The film is divided into a vast schedule which includes shooting in Mumbai from Dec, 2015 and then moving on to shoot in varied cities of Punjab like Amritsar, Malerkotla, Bhikipind Patiala in the month of Jan, 2016 and finally the last leg of the schedule will be shot in Delhi in the month of Feb, 2016.

Movie Review: ‘Sorry Daddy’ has nothing new to offer. It’s like an old wine packaged in a new bottle

Director duo Shakoor Sir & Vijay Pal have really made a mockery of a good theme in their debut directorial offering Sorry Daddy. Although the age old theme of street children or even the kidnapped ones being forced to beg, after their body parts are mutilated, is nothing new and represented time and again since its 1st attempt in Nanha Farishta.

Sorry Daddy is actually a children’s action drama film set in the early 2014’s. The story centre’s around the turbulent relationship between Inspector Ravi Sharma (Shameem Khan) and the street children, a relationship which is affected by children’s issues with alcohol abuse and temperament. Inspector Ravi Sharma is an honest & intelligent police officer. He burst the racket of Daddan’s (Mukesh Tiwari) illegal wine factory to show his intention against the enemy of law & society. Meanwhile, his daughter Anishka seeks his help to find out her lost school friend Aditya, who is a very bright student but always looks puzzled because of his drunken father who fights with his mother every time. One day the fight takes an ugly turn and father dies accidentally. Aditya runs away from the home in fear. Ravi arrests his mother as murderer and she lands up in prison. Innocent Aditya walks randomly in the city and meets a gang of street beggars who want to help him. But unfortunately, he lands up in the clutches of Sevak Ram (Tinu Verma). Sevak Ram is a socialist who runs a self organization for the betterment of these street children. But the truth is that he makes them handicap and pushes them in begging business.

Sorry to say but Sorry Daddy is the most pathetic film ever made in the history of Indian Cinema. The debutante directors Shakoor Sir & Vijay Pal have failed miserably in delivering the goods. Right from the word go nothing seems to work for this badly presented film. There is just one song which has been repeated throughout the film and it gets on your nerves.

Performance wise senior actors like Tinu Verma, Razzak Khan, Mukesh Tiwari, Shehzad Khan & Raghubir Yadav are mercifully wasted. Even the new actors like Shameem Khan, Gayetri Singh and hordes of others have hammed like nobody’s business. All this new actors especially Shameem Khan are more like mini financiers who finance the films just to satisfy their urge to don the grease paint & face the arc lights. They neither have the talent, the figure or even the looks to be actors. With no screen presence they end up looking more like beggars on the streets.

Tail Piece: Sorry Daddy is a sheer waste of time & energy. So stay miles away from the theatre that still has the daring to screen Sorry Daddy in their cinema halls.

Movie Review: ‘The Silent Heroes’ is the most beautiful & the most sensitive film about people with physical disability

First things first the debutante director Mahesh Bhatt of The Silent Heroes should not be confused with our erstwhile director Mahesh Bhatt of the Bhatt Empire. The present director Mahesh Bhatt of The Silent Heroes is a journalist turned debutante director. He deserves all kudos for making such a beautiful and sensitive film about people who are battling with their life with all their physical deformity & physical disability intact. And another plus point of The Silent Heroes is that it was shot at the beautiful locales of the Himalayan Mountains Of Uttarkhand.

So The Silent Heroes is an adventure drama movie following the story of 13 real life deaf children. In fact The Silent Heroes showcases the fictional story of 13 deaf children from a school in Uttarkhand who want to work on something which will bring them respect and the world will look up to them. This school is run by 2 teachers who feel that if these children become mountaineers then their dream to rise high above everyone will be realised, after all mountaineering is a difficult sport and attempting the same with deaf children is a much bigger challenge. So the children and their families get excited about this and want to pursue this dream but they need someone to train them and believe in their nearest impossible dream. The rest of the story is of their trainer and his haunting past which compels him to help them, then follows their rigorous training and unfolding events in the Himalaya and rejections by other trainers, their final expedition and then extreme weather and challenges during this expedition with an unexpected & extremely thrilling climax to this expedition and their dream journey through the mountains.

Hats off to the producers team of Kamal Birani & Mahesh Bhatt, who incidentally also doubles up as a director, for making such a courageous & awe inspiring film The Silent Heroes minus all the commercial trappings is especially made to boost up the morale and lift up the spirit of the global disabled people. The credit should also be given to the entire cast & crew for being part of such a brilliant film like The Silent Heroes.

Performance wise all the actors like Maanuv Bharadwaj, Priyanka Panchal, Mann Bagga, Simran Deep, Nirmal Kumar Pant etc and even the real life characters are brilliantly outstanding.

Tail Piece: The Silent Heroes is certainly a not to be missed film at any cost. But how many real takers are there of such good films as most of the audiences are too fond of the regular masala films which are full of naach gaanas & dishoom dishoom.

Movie Review: ‘Hate Story 3’ is the most illogical erotic thriller ever seen on celluloid silver screen

It’s really true that too many well – known cooks ultimately spoil the broth. In further spoiling the illogical recipe of Hate Story 3, the main chefs (Read the entire team barring the editor & the composers) are producers Bhushan Kumar & Vikram Bhatt, who is also the story writer), director Vishal Pandya in tandem with the rooster of actors (Zarine Khan, Karan Singh Grover, Daisy Shah, Priyanshu Chatterjee et al (barring Sharman Joshi).

The loosely scripted scenario of Hate Story 3 kicks starts with Aditya Diwan (Sharman Joshi) who happens to be a Mumbai-based millionaire having his fingers dipped in many pies. He controls a cola company and owns hotels across the globe and decides to open a super – specialty clinic in tribute to his deceased brother (Priyanshu Chatterjee). He is also married to his brother’s ex girlfriend Siya (Zarine Khan). Just when it looks like he has everything going for him, his whole life turns upside down. As business tycoon Saurabh Singhania (Karan Singh Grover), who likes to stand at the edge of skyscrapers, makes Aditya an ‘indecent proposal’ which involves Siya, immediately triggering a war between the 2 of them. The attacks, counter attacks and many, many bathing scenes forms the rest of the story.

Director Vishal Pandya’s directorial treatment in Hate Story 3, a sequel to Hate Story 2 and a heady cocktailed concoction of several Hollywood flicks, leaves much to be desired. Even otherwise he hardly had anything to do. As the composers, the choreographer, the actors did all the work (by dancing & bathing the moment they get a chance) and then the editor putting everything together in a racy & presentably watchable form.

Performance wise the entire credit goes only to Sharman Joshi who succeeds in delivering the goods amidst the entire confusion confounding situation. The 2 heroines Zarine Khan & Daisy Shah are the best bathing show pieces that Bollywood must have ever seen. And what can one say about 2 of the most stiff & wooden albeit zombie oriented act of Karan Singh Grover, he was good only in the one minute long shot on the hospital bed, & Priyanshu Chatterjee.

Tail Piece: The serialized sequels of Hate Story’s will continue emerging from the House of T – Series. Don’t bother just avoid it and if at all you are tempted to watch just have fun and don’t take it seriously.

Movie Review: ‘Tamasha’ is like a one big tight slap on viewer’s face

Director Imtiaz Ali’s last fame to glory was a Randeep Hooda & Alia Bhatt starrer Highway. It had garnered rave reviews in tandem with a decent commercial success. But his latest uptake in Tamasha, director Imtiaz Ali indeed seems to be living in a fool’s paradise as he has ended up making a fool of the entire fraternity of viewers who have dared to witness this unnecessary & uncalled for tamasha. The movie Tamasha is like one big tamacha (tight slap) on the audiences face. Need I say anything more?

The plotted scenario of Tamacha starts off with the onstage robotic ‘introduction’ of Ved Vardhan Sahni (Ranbir Kapoor). The story then gets into a flashback mode wherein the audiences are introduced to the childhood of Ved, who gets mesmerized & enchanted by stories. The ‘impact’ of these stories told during his childhood is so huge that it starts hampering his ‘corporate life’. The story then takes the viewers to Corsica, the place that he chooses to break free from his routine stereotyped life. It is here where he meets Tara Maheshwari (Deepika Padukone), an ‘Asterix’ crazy Indian who gets stranded in Corsica because of her lost baggage. When Ved & Tara meet, they get into an agreement that they will refrain from asking each other’s personal details and that whatever they tell each other will be only lies, and lastly, ‘what happens in Corsica, stays in Corisca’. That’s why they decide to become ‘Don’ & ‘Mona Darling’ respectively. Thus continues their journey of break free & unknown identities. And if you are still curious of what Tamacha is all about, go take a stroll in your nearest multiplex.

Director Imtiaz Ali has displayed his poorest directorial prowess in the entire span of his illustrated & checkered directorial career. The movie Tamasha lacks the punch due to its confusingly contrived storyline. One song “Matarghasti” is catchy & hummable otherwise Allah Rakha Rahman’s music is too disappointing to say the least. Need anything more be said.

Performance wise Ranbir Kapoor surprises everyone with his effortless histrionics. For a change once again Ranbir Kappor’s on screen chemistry with Deepika Padukone is electrifying. Deepika Padukone has also delivered a commendable performance. While the other actors like Javed Sheikh, Vivek Mushran, Nikhil Bhagat, Faraaz Servaia, Punam Singh, Piyush Mishra et al are adequate in their respective roles.

Tail Piece: Tamasha should be strictly avoided if you don’t wish to end up loving in a fool’s paradise.

Movie Review: ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is a perfect family entertainer. So what if it defies all logic

Salman Khan & Sooraj Barjatya go a long way from ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ to ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ en route ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’ & ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’. In fact Sallu Miyan is back again to steal the audiences hearts with his double role as Prem & Sooraj in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. While Sooraj Barjatya has already created history with films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ & ‘Hum Saath Saath Hai’, ‘Vivaah’, ‘Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi’ Sooraj Barjatya is returning to direction after 9 years. To be frank ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is a complete family drama with all emotions intact.

Prem Dilwale (Salman Khan) is a happy go lucky stage actor who falls in love with Princess Maithili (Sonam Kapoor) of Devgarh. He admires her charitable activities and sets off on a journey to meet her. Maithili’s fiancé Prince Vijay Singh (Salman Khan) of Pritampur is soon to be crowned as king. Being an arrogant person he faces many problems with Maithili and his family. His step sisters Rajkumari Chandrika (Swara Bhaskar) & Rajkumari Radhika (Aashika Bhatia) too are upset with him and stays in a separate house away from the palace. His step brother Prince Ajay Singh (Neil Nitin Mukesh) hates him to the core and plans an attack on him with the help of his CEO Chirag Singh (Armaan Kohli). To save the palace prestige Diwan saheb (Anupam Kher) a loyal servant of the palace gets Prem to take Prince’s place in order to save him. Prem Dilwale vows to return the happiness of this broken family overcoming all the bitterness & hatred they have for one another.

Mounted on a very lavish scale in all aspects & respects music is the strongest point of the film. The semi – tradional tunes in lieu with the songs bring the melodious feel of the 80’s & the 90’s. The cinematographer V. Manikandan has done a perfect job. Kudos to Sooraj Barjatya for doing an outstanding job of displaying his near perfect directional skills. Well Sooraj Barjatya has made a perfect family entertainer.
So what if it defies all logic.

Performance wise Salman Khan has proved once again especially after ‘Tere Naam’ & ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ that he is an uncrowned king of histrionics. Sonam Kapoor looks & appears as a sensational stunning beauty and perhaps that was all that was expected of her. Deepak Dobriyal is totally mesmerising. While Neil Nitin Mukesh, Armaan Kohli & Swara Bhaskar are apt in their respective roles.

Tail Piece: ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is like a double whammy for Salman Khan fans just like his currently on air show namely ‘Big Boss 9 Double Trouble’ and is stricly recommended mainly for die hard Sallu Miyan fans.

Actor Saeed Jaffrey passes away at 86

Veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey, who starred in numerous Bollywood and international films, has died at the age of 86.

Tributes have poured in after news of his death was shared on Facebook by his niece Shaheen Aggarwal.

Jaffrey starred in acclaimed Indian films such as Satyajit Ray’s Shatranj ke Khiladi (The Chess Players) and more than 100 Bollywood films.

He also appeared in A Passage To India, Gandhi and The Man Who Would Be King.

He was a household name in Britain after acting in Tandoori Nights, The Far Pavilions, The Jewel In The Crown and countless other TV roles, including playing Ravi Desai in the soap opera Coronation Street.

Born in Punjab in India in 1929, Jaffrey began his career as a theatre actor and later went on to work with legends like Sean Connery, Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley.

He was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to drama.

Jaffrey was married to actress-author Madhur Jaffrey with whom he had three children. They divorced in 1966.

The news of the death was announced late on Sunday by Ms Aggarwal on Facebook.

She wrote: “Today, a generation of Jaffreys has passed away. Saeed Jaffrey has joined his brothers and sister and is rejoicing in the lap of his Heavenly Father, eternally.”

‘Bhouri’ is a women-centric film: Chanderpaul Singh

Débutante producer Chanderpaul Singh is now ready with an off beat & realistic film, needless to say with all the commercial trappings intact, offering named ‘Bhouri’. In this exclusive interview he speaks at length all about his pet project ‘Bhouri’.

Right at the outset tell us what is your upcoming film ‘Bhouri’ all about?

First of all I would like to enlighten one & all that my upcoming film ‘Bhouri’ is a womencentric film. It depicts how all women, especially if they are beautiful, in a particular small village is treated as an object of a lusty desire of some men to give vent to their carnal pleasure.

How about narrating the plotline of ‘Bhouri’ in a nutshell?

The opening sequence of ‘Bhouri’ introduces us to the part of a famished rural India to which the higher authorities have turned a blind eye. The local governance & supplies are dominated by a group of 5 upper class men who collectively rule the village. They exploit their power in every possible way. The villagers are compelled to satisfy them, often at a great expense to their meager means & dignified self respect to the extent that most of the women, especially ‘Bhouri’ the most beautiful of them who was recently married to Dhanua one of the villager, in the village have been compelled to flesh trade for these so called 5 tyrants’ gratified sexual pleasures. And all these women are a hapless & helpless as their menfolks’ only means of livelihood in the village is the Zamindar owned & run kiln (Bhatta). The film ‘Bhouri’ narrates the plight of these women who are sexually exploited sometimes even with force. Until Bhouri revolts & protests strongly against this sexual malpractises.

Don’t you think this sexual exploitation scenario has been repeated time & again in Bollywood movies?

Yes! You are right on this score but you forget one thing that every filmmaker & director presents such oft repeated scenario with their own perspective, their own hindsight. And as far as ‘Bhouri’ is concerned it is based on one particular angle which is set against the backdrop of the fight of women in rural India. In particular ‘Bhouri’ is based on a fictional yet somewhat true story of a 22 year old girl named Bhouri whose extremely fair complexion & sharp features became a source of endless pain & punishment in life as her only crime was that her over attractive looks aroused (sexual) lust, lust & only lust.

Don’t you think the blatantly bold theme of ‘Bhouri‘ topped with a fair amount of skin show will prove to be a hindrance at the time of censoring the film?

The skin show that you are referring to has been done in a very decent & dignified manner as per the requirement of the theme of the film. So I don’t think the censors will raise any objections to it.

As a parting shot how about giving us an insight into the crew & the cast of ‘Bhouri‘?

‘Bhouri’ has been produced by me under the banner of S Video Picture Pvt Ltd Presents. The other crew members are directed by Jasbir Bhati, screenplay & dialogues by Jagat Bhushan Singh & Manjeet Mahipal, cinematography by Mohammed Rubaiz, editing by Mansoor Azmi & Miraz Ali, music by Sanjay Pathak, lyrics by Priya Pathak & Manjeet Mahipal & PRO Raju Kariya. The film stars débutante Masha Paur as Bhouri & stalwarts like Raghuveer Yadav, Kunika, Shakti Kapoor, Mohan Joshi, Sitaram Panchal, Mohan Joshi, Mukesh Rishi & above all Aditya Pancholi.

“NH10 was the turning point in my career:” Navdeep Singh

Navdeep Singh had gained instant recognition & glory when he had yielded the megaphone for actress Aushka Sharma’s ‘NH10’, and this was almost after 8 years of lying low after his debut directorial venture ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’. Here in this exclusive interview Editor Ravi Kumar of Film & TV Trade preview, Navdeep Singh speaks about his more than a decade long directorial journey.

You are hailing from an army background. So what made you to choose your career in the film industry?

After completing my education in US & UK and also dabbling with the making of a few commercials side by side out there I had come to India and joined the army but from day one I was itching to do something creative. Over here, I mean in the Army Club’s cantonment arena they used to show us the VHS of Hindi & English films. And so I slowly got drifted into the realms of the magic of Bollywood movies.

Did you face any objections from your family, when you decided to opt for a career in the film industry?

None whatsoever as I had already tried my hands at making commercials in UK & US I decided to follow my passion in India too. So when I reached the Indian shores I instantly decided to make commercials and I ended up doing the commercials of branded products like Lakme, Maruti, Garnier et al.

So your real claim to fame has been in the arena of the commercials & the music videos. Tell us something about your past work!

As said earlier I made commercials and the making of music videos came much later. On the flip side I also started making enough grounds for making my debut Hindi film. Besides I have already told you about the branded commercials I had done.

When did you decide to direct a Hindi feature film?

I had come to Mumbai in the year 2001. Then I took some time to establish myself by making commercials & music videos. And then I planned the making of my debut feature film in Hindi. No doubt it was an offbeat film named ‘Manorma Six Feet Under’. I had initially planned to make ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ with Irfan Khan, but the initial producer who had come on board jus backed out at the last moment. And since the project was getting delayed day by day Irfan khan too started becoming busy and he too opted out. But finally ‘Manorama Six Feet Under’ hit the celluloid silver screen in the year 2006.

You directed ‘NH10’ after a gap of 8 years. What was the reason behind it?

You see it so happened that ‘Manorama Six Feet Under bagged a lot of critical appreciation but could not hit the bull’s eye at box office. I did have to make serious efforts to bag my 2nd project. And then when I landed up the project named ‘NH10’ its pre – production planning took a lot of time and finally it went on the floors.

How did you plan ‘NH10’?

After the initial pre – production planning like getting the script and stars on board which also included the rece of the locales on the National Highway 10 which also included seeking of the requisite Governmental permissions to shoot. And since it was the debut project for Anushka as a producer we all were trying to make extra efforts for its success both artistically & commercially.

’NH10’ was a perfect balance of realistic & commercial cinema, touching the subject of honour killing in a very different way. Have you done any effort to make the film commercially viable?

No we did not take any effort in this direction. We had landed up a good subject for ‘NH10’ so we tried to present the theme as realistically as possible. We did not temper with it nor did we try to decorate it with the usual commercial trappings of songs, dances and the usual masala entertainment. It was a story based on the true events. With no lecture baazi and it was not even preachy. A simple story told simply, of course retaining the hardcore gruesomeness as far as possible.

How was it working with Anushka Sharma?

It was a pleasure working with her. I would say that she is a fantastic actress. Not only these, she is equally sincere & dedicated actress. The film was shot mostly in night shift but never once did she complain and above all she is a wonderful producer never even once asking how the film is shaping up. There were no objections or obstacles whatsoever raised from her side. It was a smooth sailing all the way.

It is heard that members of censor board wanted a ban on ‘NH10’. Why?

Yes initially they did raise an objection stating that the film was too crude, violent & gruesome. But ultimately I convinced them by saying that it was nothing as compared to what happens in real life. And it will hardly inspire anyone to connect with such crimes. In fact it will prove to be very repulsive for them to hate such crimes.

Is thriller your favourite genre?

Yes you can say that as I enjoy making films of this genre.

If a director gives a flop in Hindi film industry, producers are generally afraid to sign his / her next project. What are your comments on it?

It’s true. Tell me why they would take risk on such flop directors. But one fine day such directors too, get a 2nd time to prove their directorial prowess but it takes a lot of convincing powers to make them to back your project. Directors do find someone who can put their belief in them.

In Hindi industry, cinema with stars is preferred more than the cinema of content. What are your comments on it?

Yes I think so and I totally agree with you. But of late content driven films are proving to be a lot more successful.

Are you looking forward to work with any big star?

Yes of course If they come forward and believe in my kind of cinema. Or else I am happy with my content driven films starring mini stars or debutante actors.

So what is next on your directorial cards?

A lot more which I can’t reveal at this stage. Suffice it to say that concrete & productive talks are going on with 2 to 3 producers.
